And I've been making my living as an actor and a commercial model for over 26 years. For those of you who don't know, there was a major merger of 2 acting unions in March of 2012, and so basically SAG which stands for the Screen Actors Guild, and AFTRA, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, merged and they became one new union. The new name for the union— ready for this? SAG-AFTRA. Not all that creative, but it's a powerful union. This is just one of the many things you're going to be learning when you take the SAG-AFTRA Actors Union Online Workshop. I'm going to have an incredible guest. His name is James Sheridan. He owns a payroll company, and you're going to learn all about whether you should join the union, how the union can help protect you, all the advantages of being in the union, what non-union work is all about.
