Hi, my name is Aaron Marcus, America's premier acting and commercial modeling career coach, the founder of HowToModel.com, the author of How to Become a Successful Commercial Model, now in its 5th edition. And I've been making my living as an actor and a commercial model for over 26 years. Without a doubt, the biggest mistake that actors make that prevents them from getting work is trying to do more than what they can really do. And what I mean by that is this: sometimes people are under the assumption that if they can show everything. They can do all kinds of different voices and make different types of sounds and have different kinds of dialects that they're going to be getting a tremendous amount of work. Well, the key thing is making sure that whatever you put on your demo reel is something that you are phenomenal at. Because if you just try to do everything and some things are okay, some things are great, The things that aren't so good will be remembered by people. So what you want to do is figure out what your strength is, and that's what you want to have on your demo reel. Don't dilute it with things that you are not absolutely incredible doing. This is just one of the many topics you're going to be learning when you register for the Voiceover Jobs Online Workshop. You'll even learn how to put together a great demo reel, how to get work even if you're living in a small market. You're going to learn how to find the right agent to submit you for voiceover work. I'm also going to be interviewing Ty Ford, who's an incredibly successful voiceover artist.
