Aaron Marcus shares how to handle crew members talking in the background during a take. Finish the scene, use the frustration in your performance if you can, then politely tell the director or AD after the cut.

Hi, here's another acting and modeling quick tip with me, Aaron Marcus. So I was recently on a set and I was in the middle of doing a scene and I'm hearing some of the crew talking in the background and it was kind of disturbing. And not that they were being loud, but I could just hear them. So as an actor, and I wanted to share this with you, you have a couple of options. One is you could do what some actors do and you stop and you start screaming and yelling and asking people to get taken off sets and be fired. Create a real scene. That's one option. That's not the one that I recommend or the one that I choose. So here's another option. This is what I like to do. I mean, not that it happens that often, but when it does happen, what I will do is I'm going to finish the scene. Sometimes, depending on the scene, that annoyance, that aggravation could actually help me, depending on what I'm trying to do with my character. And then After I finish shooting and the director yells cut, then I'll walk over to the director or first AD or something and just say, hey, look, there's some people talking in the background. Would you just, you know, make sure that everything is quiet for the next take? And sometimes what you might find is that using some of that anger, some of the disturbance that's going on there, could actually be very helpful to you in the scene. So anyhow, it's just a quick tip I wanted to share with you. I hope it's helpful to you. And if you are watching this on YouTube, please give it a thumbs up. If you're watching this on Facebook, please like it. And also let others know if you've been on a set and things have bothered you. It doesn't have to be with people talking. Love to hear what you did and how that worked for you. So anyhow, I'm Aaron Marcus. If you have any questions at all, just go to facebook.com/howtomodel.
