In this short instructional video, Aaron Marcus shares practical guidance for actors and models who receive a rejection or no response from a talent agent. He emphasizes that a "no" is not final, recounting a personal example where an agency took two years to say yes. Marcus advises asking agents for referrals to other agencies, resubmitting after several months (typically 4‑6 months), and ensuring that professional materials—headshots, commercial photos, and a well‑formatted resume—are up to date. He stresses persistence, continuous outreach to multiple agencies, and maintaining confidence despite setbacks. The video concludes with a call to like or thumbs‑up the video and provides contact information (Facebook page, website, and personal email) for further questions.

Hi, here's another acting and modeling quick tip with me, Aaron Marcus. So if you submit yourself to an agent and either they don't respond to you or you find out that they are not interested right now, keep this in mind: no does not mean never. And I can tell you, there have been a couple of agents that I have submitted myself to over the years, and I remember this one particular agent, it took 2 years. before they said yes. And when they finally did say yes, I asked them— I was just kind of curious as to why they said no for so long. And they just said that they weren't getting the kind of work that was right for me with that agency, and then things started to change, and then they thought that I would be good for the agency. And I actually wound up booking some jobs with them. So there are many reasons why agents say yes or no. It's a very subjective kind of thing, and maybe you're You're just not a good fit with that particular agency. And actually, here's a suggestion. If you do get a no from an agent, I would highly recommend that you ask them, are there any other agents in the area that they can recommend that you contact? Maybe they know of another agency that they think is a better fit for you. Once again, it's a very subjective thing. Sometimes an agent might say no, and then when you resubmit, which I recommend that you do, Maybe 6 months later, maybe they'll say yes. Maybe the agent that said no left and maybe the new agent would be very interested in you. It can work a lot of different ways. So the important thing is if you get a rejection or you don't hear back from them, I'm not saying don't feel bad. It's not great when you ask somebody out on a date and they say no to you. But also understand that there are lots of great agencies out there and there are lots of reasons why you might or might not be accepted by that particular agent. And it has no reflection whatsoever on what you might be able to accomplish in the industry. So you can always try to resubmit after, you know, 4 or 5 months, see what happens. Continue to submit to other agencies in the area. And— but the important thing to keep in mind is that you will find an agent as long as you have the right materials. You've got the right headshot or commercial photo Your resume is in good order, even if it's maybe it's not all that impressive, but at least you have it in the right kinds of format. Keep pushing, keep finding, and keep searching, and I'm sure you will find somebody. If you are watching this on Facebook, please like it. If you're watching this on YouTube, give it a thumbs up.
