Hey, I'm Aaron Marcus, and let me tell you why today was the perfect day for me to get my haircut. Now, something I've never really shared before with you, but let me tell you. So before I was an actor, I was actually a musician for 7 years, and I used to have a really long beard, had hair down to my waist, and at one point I decided to get my haircut. And I was pretty nervous. It had been many, many years since I had gotten my hair cut. And so I went to see a barber and walked in. It was a pretty funky kind of place, and the first thing the guy said to me who owned the place was, what's your sign? Which was kind of surprising to me, and I said, well, I'm a Sagittarius. He said, oh, I can't cut your hair today. Why? I said, you're kidding me. He goes, no, no. He starts saying, well, you know, the moon is rising and then this thing is falling and— he said, no, it's just not a good time. Come back next month and I'll cut your hair. It'll be a better time. Actually, make it like 2 weeks, 2 and a half weeks. True story, and the guy wouldn't cut my hair. Astrologically, it just didn't fit in right and he said the vibes weren't right and stuff. So Did not get my haircut then. So the reason why today was the perfect day to get my haircut, not because my, you know, being a Sagittarius, but it was for a couple of reasons. If you are ever auditioning for a project and the shoot is going to be coming up, don't get your haircut until after you hear about the project. Many, many years ago Once again, I'm going to make a very long story incredibly short. I went to a go-see in New York and auditioned for a modeling job. It was a pretty big project. It was going to be billboards across the country. It was a really cool shot. My hair was going to be sticking straight up. I went to this go-see. I never heard anything. Then I actually had a couple of jobs after that. One was a training film for the U.S. Navy, and so I had to get my hair cut. And then the agent from New York called and said, hey, great news, you booked that billboard thing. I said, fantastic, I'm incredibly excited. I take the train up to New York, and I walked into the photographer's studio, and he looks at me and he said, you cut your hair. I said, Yeah, I said, honestly, I didn't think I had the job because it had been a couple weeks. And he said, I don't think I can use you. And essentially I got fired. Did not do the job. Besides spending a lot of money on the train, doing the day, feeling emotionally incredibly upset by that, I also felt Really embarrassed professionally. I was so new in the game here. I didn't realize that I should have asked the agent, should have mentioned to the agent, hey, look, I just want to let you know I booked a job. This was in another state. It was a different agent, but I still should have called the New York agent to say, look, I just booked this job. I am going to cut my hair. Can you find out just to make sure that I don't have this job? Once again, I wasn't even thinking of that. And so, uh, it was very embarrassing for me to have to tell the agent. Plus, the model, the second choice who they wound up getting, uh, came from another agency. So my agent wasn't very happy. She lost out on a lot of money. So, um, I had a couple of auditions, uh, last week which I, uh, did not book, and I also I shot an episode. There's a new TV series that is streaming on Amazon, and I booked a couple episodes on that. And so I shot one episode. My hair was quite a bit longer. Fortunately, the scene that I'm going to be shooting in about 3 weeks actually happens chronologically first, so it would be okay. It would make sense. You know, my hair's shorter, and then in the scene, uh, this is supposed to take place about 3 weeks later, my hair's longer. So that makes sense to me. So this felt like the perfect time to get my haircut. I didn't have anything pending. There were no auditions, um, that I could possibly lose because changing my hair— The point is, if you audition Don't make any changes, physical changes, until you know that you didn't get the job because you don't want to put yourself in a horrible position of showing up on set, people wondering who this person is. You made these changes because, like for that modeling job, it was based on my hair being able to stand up really high. And after the job with the Navy, Didn't have that much hair.
