In this video, I'm going to be teaching you a simple and easy way to add your headshot to your acting resume in a Word document so that way you're not going to struggle like I used to with trying to place a photo just in the right spot without disrupting all of the text. Okay, let's get started. Hi, I'm Aaron Marcus and welcome to the Acting and Modeling Career Center and the Acting and Modeling Quick Tips Every Tuesday I try to upload a new video depending on my schedule. And hey, by the way, if you haven't done this yet, don't forget, click the subscribe button, the little notification bell, so you always know whenever I upload a new video. And if you like the video, give it a thumbs up. That's really helpful. So here's what I want to do. I'm going to be sharing with you step by step, a really simple way of adding your headshot to your resume. Here it is. The hardest part, and I used to get so unbelievably frustrated, is because every time I would try to add my headshot onto the resume, it would disperse the text. It would change it around. It would drop the lines. It was just horrible. And then somebody showed me this really simple fix, and I'm telling you, it changed my life. So let me show you how I do it. So first, you're going to need to go into a Word document. And let me open this thing up so you can see it. So this is— and certainly you're going to put in whatever information is appropriate for you. So the very first step is You're going to go to Insert. So you click on Insert and then you're going to click on Pictures and you're going to put your headshot in there. So I'm going to go to Picture from File and let me show you a special one. So it's not quite my headshot, but there's a good example. So first I'm going to have to make it smaller. So I'm just going to do a left mouse click, grab the corner, and that way I can keep the proportions correct. And let's use this one as my headshot. All I can say is that when I was out hiking in Alaska, for this one, you had to take a bus to get to a certain area of the park. I was very happy that I was on the bus. So as you can see, if I were trying to place this— place this on my resume— and by the way, you want to have your headshot on your resume. Like, everybody does theirs differently. I love the idea. And the reason for that is, after people look at my headshot, they flip it over. And they see my face again as they're skimming my resume. And it can be the same headshot if that's the best one. If you have a very different look, then you can put a different headshot, uh, in the right-hand corner of your resume, and that way they can see a different version of you, but they are still constantly having your face in their brain. So I think it's a great idea to have a headshot on your resume. Okay, so as you can see, it's really problematic trying to put a headshot or any kind of photo into a Word document. So here is the trick, and this is wonderful. So very first thing, I'm going to right mouse click on the picture. Then, and this is after I've sized it up, although it doesn't really matter, but it's just easier this way. Then I'm going to go down to Wrap Text. Okay? And I'm going to go to the dropdown and it says Behind Text. Click on that. And now watch what happens. I can take the— it's like magic. This is incredible. I love this. It is so amazing. And you'll have to play around with the exact sizing and placement and things like that. But so just remember, it's a really simple couple of step thing. You insert the picture, get it to the right size, and then I'll just do it one more time so you can see it. After you do the insert, you're going to do— oh, I'm sorry, sorry. I'm just going to go back to the right mouse click on the picture, Wrap Text, and Behind Text. And then once you do that, You can move the photo anywhere you want and it does not disrupt your text. Hey, I hope you found that helpful. Hey, and if there are any tips that you can share dealing with any technical things, please leave a comment below. Once again, a quick reminder, if you haven't done this yet, click the subscribe button, the notification bell, And if you like the video, please give it a thumbs up. And, and the very last thing, uh, look, I, I wanna build a community of actors, uh, helping each other. So please share the link with your fellow actor friends, and that way we can build a great community together of people helping each other. I'm Aaron Marcus, and I can't wait to talk with you again soon. See ya.
