A 600,000-Person Study Found No Link Between Saturated Fat and Heart Disease #shorts

A 2014 review of 76 studies with over 600,000 participants found no link between saturated fat and heart disease, yet it took a decade for health guidelines to catch up. Dr. Aaron Hartman distinguishes between healthy fats like butter and ghee versus processed, solvent-extracted oils that dominate modern food.

In 2014, we knew that fat was associated with no increased risk for heart disease. Let me say that again. In 2014, the literature was definitively published that there's no, no association between saturated fat consumption and heart disease. Now, this was actually published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and was looking at 76 studies in over 600,000 patients. 600,000 participants. Now, 2026, we've changed. 22 years later. That's how long it takes for stuff to happen in the medical world. Typically, when research comes out, it can take 10, 20, 30, 40, up to 50 years before that becomes standard of care. Think about that for a second. New information comes out and your doctor might be reading about it, implementing the practice decades later. This happened with fat. Fat is back. Healthy fats are healthy, bad fats are bad. Imagine that. What are healthy fats? Healthy forms of saturated fat like butter, ghee, clean sources of avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, getting healthy sources of fat. What are unhealthy sources of fat? Processed, adulterated, burnt, solvent-extracted, deodorized oils. And that is what is in the entirety of our food system right now. If you wanna learn more about these healthy fats, we do have a food sourcing guide available to those. Click below and get access to that. There'll be resources courses on our website as well. But you have to learn about this stuff. But literally, 2014, 22 years ago— no, sorry, yeah, sorry, 12 years ago— we knew, 12 years ago, we knew that fat was good definitively. And yet it took almost 12 years for our government to say, you know what, fat's back. Well, guess what? It's back. And you need to educate yourself and arm yourself with information to know how to eat the right foods to minimize your risk of heart disease, cancer, and a bunch of stuff. But this is a major medical blind spot we've gotten wrong for quite some time. Arm yourself with information, get educated, because the question I have for you is, what are the current blind spots in our healthcare system? If you have some ideas, I love to, I love to know your ideas. Share below and maybe we'll talk about 'em. But you know, we'll keep on talking about blind spots.
