Short video commentary by Aaron Hartman, MD promoting the carnivore diet and explaining why it is popular. The speaker links the diet to gut healing, notes common American issues (low protein, micronutrient deficiencies, SIBO, yeast and staph overgrowth), and situates carnivore as a newer iteration of approaches like fasting, meal spacing, low-sugar diets, and keto.

The Carnivore diet is all the rage right now. What's so amazing about this diet? Why is it the rage? One of the reasons it's a big deal is because ultimately your gut is the key to your body self healing, repairing. And most Americans don't eat enough protein. We have micronutrient deficiencies. We have sibo, or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. We have yeast overgrowth and staph overgrowth and fasting, which is the old school way of dealing with that, spreading out meals, which is another way, doing like a low sugar diet, et cetera, et cetera. The Carnivore is the newer version. The keto diet was with a version of that a couple years ago, if you remember that, you know, people eating fat and eating butter, all that kind of jazz. It was ways to actually starve unhealthy bacteria, unhealthy yeast, unhealthy strep, staph, etc. The carnivore and Lyndott are newer versions.
