Short lecture-style monologue asserting that cholesterol deposition in the artery wall is the causal agent of atherosclerosis. The speaker frames arterial plaque as the result of decades-long ‘illegal dumping’ of cholesterol into the artery wall and raises how hydrophobic lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides) are trafficked in plasma and used by tissues.

It is cholesterol deposition in the artery wall. If you do not have cholesterol in your artery wall, you do not have the disease called atherosclerosis. So it is cholesterol that is the causal agent for atherosclerosis. But your artery didn't over synthesize cholesterol. So obviously there is what I call an illegal dump job of cholesterol in your artery wall over years, resulting in plaque. The illegal dumping didn't occur last week, it occurred for the last 20 or 30 years. So how is cholesterol a hydrophobic lipid? How are triglycerides a hydrophobic lipid trafficked in your plasma? Because they are. If nobody was bringing triglycerides to your muscles, you would have no fatty acids to oxidize and create a keto.
