Dr. Bishara and Aaron Hartman discuss why women need more protein than traditional guidelines suggest for hormone balance. Most vegan diets rely on processed carbs instead of whole foods, and Bishara outlines his inflammation-fighting approach from The Gut Revolution.
Women need way more protein than we've been recommending for the last 20, 30 years just for hormone balance.
I agree with you. I'm not opposed to vegan. I think I would say 10% of vegans are doing it right where they're really eating nutritiously and they know to prevent certain vitamin deficiencies, which can happen. But like you said, I think the majority of people who go vegan don't really do it properly. And I think all the processed foods and the increase in the rice and refined carbs is not really helping them.
In your book, the Gut Revolution, could you walk us through what's the basic outline of the approach you put out in your book as far as, hey, I want to maximize my health. I've got inflammation. I feel like we're all inflamed these days, right.
