This YouTube talk (by Aaron Hartman, MD) defines dysbiosis as an imbalance in the microbiome — e.g., bacterial overgrowth, yeast overgrowth, parasites, too many or too few native microbes, or microbes in the wrong location (example: SIBO). The speaker draws an extended analogy that homes can also have microbiome dysbiosis: when the wrong organisms grow they release biotoxins (speaker mentions “Actino”), penetrate skin or are inhaled, and can synergistically worsen each other’s effects.
