FAKE FOOD IN REAL ITALY

Aaron Hartman, MD records an on-location YouTube video in Venice, Italy, showing behind-the-scenes boxes of imported or packaged foods (e.g., calamari from Thailand, boxed pesto) that challenge assumptions about "authentic" Italian restaurant food. He urges viewers to source and prepare food themselves to ensure authenticity and nutrient density, warns about canned/processed ingredients, and points to a food sourcing guide on his website as a resource.

All right, you're never going to guess what I found here in the streets of Venice, Italy. Look at these boxes. Now, coming to Italy to get authentic food. This calamari right here is from Thailand. This pasta is from this place right here. If you look, these are all boxes of food. This is where they get their pesto, boxes of pesto. So it's interesting. We talk about authentic food. You can come to a place like Italy and think you're getting authentic food and you're actually not getting authentic food. You're getting a box of food. I mean, look at this. These are all the boxes out back from food up front. I'm kind of curious what the front of the restaurant is. You know, gotta be careful not to. This is behind the scenes kind of stuff. The point is, how do you know if your food you're eating is real or not real? There's really no way to do it unless you source it yourself or you know, the owners of the restaurant or they do whatever. But even when you're an authentic country in authentic Italy eating authentic Italian food, you think that place, everything's coming from a box. That's insane. So what's the, what's the point? You have to know where your food source from. I just finished doing a video talking about everywhere chemicals and one of the ways to avoid those, to avoid canned food. That place is getting the calamari and the pasta that's coming and the pesto are coming in cans. So, you know, how do you really, what's the best way to really get real authentic food? It's to cook at home. You know, I was talking, we're on trip talking with people and they're like, you know, this, this device, this app reads you know, what ingredients from the food. But the reality is, is if you have to read the ingredients of the food you're eating, maybe you shouldn't be eating it. You know, just cooking at home more using real things you buy on the outside, the perimeter of your, your grocery store. Growing things. It's summer, it's spring. Coming on summer, growing stuff in your backyard. The only way to really guarantee you're eating real food that's nutrient dense is to source it yourself. Now we do have a food sourcing guide that's available on our website. It's a, actually can help you source your food. Being we're in the country, you know, real beef, real cheese, real thing. Now we're going to walk to the front of the restaurant and you're going to see what the fronter looks like behind the scenes. This is amazing. Okay, so I'm not going to say. I'm just gonna walk by and you'll see the restaurant that's using all that box stuff right there. So let's walk and see. Let's see what's going on. That's the restaurant right there. These are the people eating there. All these people think we're giving them an authentic Italian experience. These people think they're getting real Italian food. Sad. And we're in Venice. Insane. You cannot make this up. Real life is more insane than makeup. So all these people are in Venice in the streets, thinking they're getting authentic Italian food. It's all being boxed from different countries around the world. So how do you know your food's real? You got to source it yourself. You got to make it yourself. And we have a resource on our website to help you do that. Anyway, behind the scenes here in Venice, looking at Italian food. Talk to you later.
