A short talk by Aaron Hartman, MD arguing that many health issues (gut dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, fatty acid imbalances, mineral depletion, heavy metal burden, infections, and methylation/epigenetic factors) ultimately trace back to diet. The speaker describes using tests (organic acid tests, methylation and heavy metal evaluations) and clinical investigations but emphasizes that dietary interventions remain central.

And what happens when you do these organic acid tests? You realize, wait a second, the gut's messed up. You gotta work on the gut, which goes back to food. You've got these nutrient deficiencies and low fatty acids, which goes back to food. You've got minerals, you got heavy metals. And you realize that actually one of the ways your body naturally chelates heavy metals is with minerals. And where do you get magnesium, potassium, and go back to food? And so I was having this parallel track of getting the deeper science. So from that led to the ifm, which was like the usual thing we do. You do like your methylation evaluation, looking for how her genes are turning on and off. You do your more heavy metal stuff, more nutritional evaluation stuff. So maybe she has a low grade infection from her nutritional things. But as we kind of went down that pathway, we always come back, food's even more important. This pathway. Oh my gosh, did you realize food's important, Even more important. And so there's this parallel evolution of crazy therapies and the foundations getting stronger.
