The speaker suggests that plastics are degrading into semi-solid micro-/nanoparticles that enter human tissues.

Within these plaques or atheromas in people's carotids, which are associated with strokes and neurovascular or brain vascular disease. They also found polyvinyl chloride, which PVC as well as chloride, which a part of chloride residue. So what that means is even the molecular structure of plastics are breaking down, leaving these semi solid micro nanoparticles that then are getting in our systems.
