Your periods are irregular. You're gaining weight. You're getting acne, maybe even a little rosacea. You're having some weird hair growth, maybe even losing some hair. What could possibly be going on? Doesn't this sound like a mystery, weird kind of illness? You've been to multiple doctors, they're told not a whole lot you can do for it. Either recommended to take a birth control pill to help with the hormonal symptoms or an anti-inflammatory to help with the period pain. And oh, by the way, you also might have fertility issues. What I'm talking about here is polycystic ovarian syndrome. I actually learned about this in medical school, in my residency. They called it back then Stein-Leventhal syndrome. The point is, is today about 1 in 10 women are actually suffering with this. So what is PCOS? It's actually a metabolic syndrome illness that has to do with insulin resistance, has a gut component, and an autoimmune inflammatory component. What does that mean? That it doesn't fall into one specialty field. It's not just a GYN issue endocrine issue. It actually falls into a gut system, autoimmune system, nutritional system, and actually, strangely enough, a lot of environmental toxins and chemicals can cause this endocrine disruption disease. The point is, it's super common, commonly overlooked. If you or a loved one have been suffering from PCOS, you've had a hard time getting the care you need, we have a lot of resources on our website in regards to this. Share your story below. I'd like to hear about your story so we can actually learn together. I learn from you, you learn from me. That's the way it works. That's also how I I can actually uplevel your knowledge and you can uplevel mine. So share below. Love to hear your story. Take care.
