This is a YouTube video titled "The Hidden Dangers of Vaping" containing a monologue or single-speaker discussion recorded in July 2025. The speaker reflects on the historical delay in recognizing smoking as a cause of lung cancer and draws parallels to vaping, expressing concern about the potential health risks and the time it may take to reach consensus on vaping's dangers.

It took 50 years and 7,000 research articles before the surgeons in general in the United States said smoking caused lung cancer. If we wait for consensus to say, yeah, vaping is probably not the best thing for us, then we're gonna be probably waiting 20, 30 years. And just like with smoking, there's a huge industry that's popped up around it. I think the controversy here is that people initially used vaping as a way to quit smoking, which, actually, I read my journal articles back in 2006, 2007. I actually recommended to patients, hey, maybe consider vaping to quit smoking early on, because I didn't know any better. Now it appears that's potentially worse for people than smoking. How long will it take for us to figure this out?
