In all of my years practicing medicine, I've never heard of a biofilm. Never heard about it in medical school, never heard about it in continuing education. Like, I've never, ever heard about that. So the way that I explain it to patients is that microbes like to produce, like, a force field around themselves to prevent, you know, antimicrobials and kind of the immune system and other things from coming into contact with them.
