A short spoken presentation by Aaron Hartman, MD defining 'toxin-induced loss of tolerance' (TILT) as a chemically induced activation of immune cells that leads to intolerance to environmental chemicals, foods, supplements, and medications. The speaker lists common inducers (mold, pesticides, synthetic chemicals, and possibly breast implants) and proposes TILT may contribute to chronic health problems and may relate to mast cell activity in neurodivergent conditions (autism, ADHD).

So you might be asking yourself, what is toxin induced loss of tolerance? This is a chemically induced issue where you actually have certain cells in your immune system that get activated. It makes you intolerant to chemicals around you. This could be people that have chemical sensitivity, perfume sensitivity, they can have environmental sensitivity. You're the person who walks down the aisle at the grocery store by the cleaning aisle, you feel really sick, you get headaches. But what are the biggest induces of this? You can see mold is the top of this list. Pesticides, you can keep on reading down and see different chemicals in the environment. And even the very bottom, I think you see breast implants. The point is, synthetic things in our environment or biotoxins can induce your immune system to no longer tolerate your environment, your surroundings, food, supplements, medications, a whole host of things. Maybe, just maybe, this is a part of what's going on with the chronic health issue epidemic. And is this with mast cells related to autism, ADHD, and neurodivergent kids? We'll keep on talking about that, but this is a big topic to discuss.
