One of the biggest toxins here are heavy metals, especially lead, that have been associated with heart disease. Even though we no longer have leaded gas, there's still residual lead from paint and petroleum fuels and other things being burnt, but it's also in the water systems, and it's kind of sort of everywhere. Other metals, like mercury as well, are commonly found in seafood, but also residual in our environment. And these can actually affect your heart as well as other solvents and chemicals. But heavy metals are really known to do this, especially mercury, lead and arsenic.
