Excerpt from a video in which Aaron Hartman, MD advises prioritizing organic and free-range meat and eggs because animals concentrate contaminants from their feed, leading to higher pesticide/chemical exposure in animal protein than in many washed fruits or vegetables.

But I think health wise, it's probably more important to make your meats organic because those animals concentrate what they're consuming. Yeah. And so you can get an apple, you can wash off like 90, not 100, but like 90 of the pesticides. You know, with blueberries, which don't, aren't really spread a lot, you can wash them off. You can get a lot of the stuff off. Avocados, they don't spray at all. You know, broccoli. Broccoli actually as well. So you can do those. But it's really the meat or the things, you know, eggs. People don't realize how like what they feed chickens is horrible. And so getting, you know, not just organic eggs, but, you know, chickens that are free ranging, like that's where I think people should spend their money is on the protein source, making sure that's clean. Because if it's not, those animals will concentrate all this stuff they eat and you actually get a bigger pesticide chemical hit than if you have like an apple that's not done the right way and you just wash it off.
