Why the Study That Scared Women Off HRT Was Flawed #shorts

Dr. Aaron Hartman argues the 2002 Women's Health Initiative study that scared women away from HRT was flawed: it tested older, high-risk women on synthetic hormones. A Yale analysis estimated the study's influence may have caused 18,000 to 91,000 premature deaths. Later research found HRT started near menopause cuts mortality by 30% and Alzheimer's risk by 35%.

Does hormone replacement therapy really benefit women? Does it really lower the risk of heart disease 50% maybe, or the risk to be, to be concerned about? Let's talk about that because we got this wrong from 2002 till 2025, almost quarter of a century. We mistreated, undertreated women with hormone replacement therapy. Let's talk about some of that. 2002, the Women's Health Initiative came out and said, hey, hormone replacement therapy causes lots of issues, causes breast cancer, clots, strokes. The problem was they were looking at a high-risk population over 65 in Canada, women, a lot of them were smokers, and they were using oral synthetic horse urine progesterone— sorry, estrogen, Prempro, and then progesterone, which is known to cause tumors in rats. So we're using a harmful oral pill. About 2 weeks later, physicians— it was general release— physicians started looking at, but the horse was already out of the gate. The information was out there. So what we learned since 2013, the Yale study estimated between 18,000 and 91,000— big range— postmenopausal women died prematurely over the decade following the Women's Health Initiative. This is a Yale study, 2013. Maybe up to 91,000 postmenopausal women died prematurely. Another meta-analysis showed that hormone replacement therapy started within 10 years of menopause can reduce all-cause mortality. What does that mean? Dying for any reason. 30%, coronary heart disease, 50%, Alzheimer's risk, 35%. That's insane. So what's the point? Point is, is our well-meaning healthcare system made a recommendation from the experts. You all listen to your friendly physicians and all the information from the American Academy of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, all the big, the big people. We got it 100% wrong. And the result was tens of thousands of women dying prematurely. The question is this: how often does this happen? Does it happen? Is this the only example? Does this happen all the time? The answer is it happens all the time. Over the next couple of months, we'll be going through different blind spots, different medical gaslighting, different things that just, we just got plain wrong. And, um, I think it'll be interesting to find out what things we thought were right that were just plain wrong. Stay tuned.
