I think once we make that cognitive shift, whether we're 18 years old or 80, we can start thinking about the world in a brand new way. Maybe I'm not an extrovert. Maybe I'm not that brave. Does that mean that I can't be a leader? I can't have impact? No, of course not. But I think for too long, we've conflated leadership as a title instead of leadership as an act. So if you think about it, there may be only one CEO of Apple, maybe only 5 executive vice presidents, but each and every one of us can practice acts of leadership. We can lead from wherever we are.
