I am a firstborn of immigrant parents. My mom is from Pakistan, my dad is from India, and they were raised overseas. They came here when they got married, and I'm firstborn in the US. What does that have to do with my professional journey? I think it actually has quite a lot to do with it because, you know, I had parents who didn't come to the country with a lot. I was watching them really build from scratch their own dreams, you know, their own businesses. And in my case, they had— they were small business owners themselves. I actually followed more of a traditional path. So achievement-oriented family. I went for the straight A's. I wanted to be the star student, got the good college, got great grades there, got the good job. So my first job outta college, worked for a large Big Four public accounting firm for a few years. Shiny, prestigious, lots of name recognition. I did not like it. I did not enjoy it. I am not meant to be an auditor. You can probably tell in my personality that accountant is not necessarily what I was made to do on this earth. Yeah.
