In this episode of The Conscious Pivot Podcast, host Adam Markel welcomes celebrity psychic and medium Laura Powers to discuss how rapid technological and societal change impacts personal and professional life, and how intuition and psychic practices can bolster resilience. Markel opens with personal transitions—empty‑nesting, his daughter’s college start, and his oldest daughter’s upcoming wedding—setting the stage for a conversation about navigating pivots. Powers shares her childhood of seeing spirits, a period of suppression that led to illness and a “big pivot” when she re‑embraced her gifts, and explains the difference between clairvoyance, mediumship, clairaudience, psychometry, and telepathy. Together they explore the accelerating pace of change (the expanding universe, faster communication) and argue that heightened speed demands greater body‑grounding, mindfulness, and awareness of subtle signs (numbers, synchronicities, bodily sensations). Powers offers concrete tools: a grounding and clearing meditation, body‑scan for pain as a signal of misalignment, and a decision‑making practice of tuning into bodily feelings. She describes how she applies psychic insight to business leaders—identifying misaligned employees, guiding strategic choices, and helping entrepreneurs trust their inner voice. The dialogue also touches on gender stereotypes around intuition, the importance of releasing negative thought patterns (citing Eckhart Tolle), and a daily gratitude ritual (“I love my life”). Throughout, the episode promotes a free Resilience Leader Assessment (resiliencerank.com) and Powers’ own resources (Healing Powers Podcast, Diary of a Psychic). The conversation concludes with a reminder to practice gratitude, grounding, and to listen for the universe’s signs as a way to thrive amid constant change.

Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the Conscious Pivot Podcast. I'm your host, Adam Markel. I'm feeling incredibly blessed, as you probably are accustomed to hearing me say if you've listened to any of my podcasts previously. I really think that going to gratitude is the absolute end-all be-all of life. On a good day, life can be challenging. On a great day, it's glorious, it's divine. And gratitude is just something that constantly, constantly, constantly is a grounding device for me. And so, I am going to gratitude in this moment for so many reasons. We, Randy and I, had the experience of taking our youngest daughter to college yesterday. So, going to a beautiful school and having beautiful experiences. Thinking back to the time when I was having those experiences personally as a college student, and that's a while ago at this point. One of those amazing experiences was actually meeting Randi, meeting my wife in college. It's shocking, shocking. That is just literally a second ago. It's time and space collapse, I feel. And to me, that is a minute. And I can identify with that person. And so being there yesterday and seeing our youngest daughter getting ready to embark on those experiences, it took me back to that. It made me stop and take stock in the time that has in fact passed. And it gave me pause to even consider the transition, the transition into this new phase of our lives that's known as empty nesting. We're empty nesting. I don't know what the heck that means other than we have freedom to do whatever we want. We're alone. And that's such a cool, cool thing in some ways. And it's also one of these things where I go, oh my goodness, what will we ever do with all that freedom? So I'm sitting here taking that in right now, feeling really good to be able to share that with all of you because I know some of you are going through experiencing different transitions in your life. And our oldest daughter is getting married in a couple of weeks. So lots of transitions here. And I feel incredibly blessed that not only to be able to have an opportunity to share some of those things and find out from you guys what is going on with all of you. And when you leave your comments, when you leave comments on the website, when you leave reviews and things, allows us to connect with you and find out what's going on in your world. So I invite you to do that, to leave a comment, to share what transitions and pivots and things you are experiencing right now and what it is that you are doing In the process of that, how are you processing those things? I have a guest, she's an expert at that. She helps business owners and business leaders process a lot of things to be able to gain clarity and she does it in a very different way. I don't want to say a unique way because I think there are quite a lot of people these days who are more and more recognizing some of their own intuitive abilities and this topic that we're going to dive into Today is not something that's so unusual any longer, although I still think it is definitely not commonplace, and there's still a lot that's not understood about it, and there's a lot of room for people to explore and grow from it. Resilience. It's the unsung hero in every success story that you will ever hear about. And in times of massive change and disruption, the kind of rapid change that we're all experiencing as leaders, as business owners, as entrepreneurs, we have to learn how to not only increase our own resilience, but that of our teams. So right now we have a powerful opportunity for you to find out just how resilient you are. Some years ago, my team and I created the resilience assessment that more than 5,000 business leaders across the globe have taken. And all you have to do to get your own free resilience leader assessment is go to resiliencerank.com. It takes less than 3 minutes, and it's our gift to you for being the leader that you already are. Other free resources and tools will accompany your score instantly. So go to resiliencerank.com. Go to resiliencetank.com and find out just how resilient you are. First, to tell you, her name is Laura Powers, and Laura is a celebrity psychic who's been featured on BuzzFeed and NBC and ABC and CBS and Fox, just to name a few. She helps people receive guidance and communicate with their loved ones. Ever since she was a child, Laura has seen and sensed ghosts and spirits. And she has learned how to manage those experiences and now uses her experience communicating with angels, spirits, and other energy beings to help her clients better understand and change their lives. And just before we started the show, Laura and I were talking about how prevalent change is, not just the prevalence of change, but the velocity of change that's happening in the world and how people are in fact dealing with that, how they are transitioning and Either they're doing things to consciously create more resilience in the face of that kind of onslaught of disruption at times, or how it is that potentially they're feeling the pressure of that and being even maybe worn out and exhausted by it. And Laura helps a lot of people in that space, a lot of people in business, a lot of entrepreneurs to get through some of those times and not just get through them, but really find clarity to thrive. So Laura, thank you so much for being on the show this morning. It's a pleasure. Thank you.
Thank you for having me. I'm so happy to be here.
Way cool. So I read a bit about you from the bio and all that kind of thing. And usually those bios are prepared by our marketing folks and all that, all true and the like. But is there something that's not written in that bio that you would love for people to know about you?
Yeah. I guess I would just say that I had a kind of a wild childhood growing up seeing and sensing that other people didn't see. I thought maybe I was crazy because other people didn't experience things the way that I did. I tried to block it out for many years and was fairly successful in the sense that I stopped seeing and sensing things pretty completely and then ended up in a bad place in my life. I was unemployed, I was physically ill, I was in a bad marriage, just really lost. And I went to a psychic and of course I didn't tell her about all the things I'd seen growing up. And she said, well, when you blocked out You also blocked out your intuition. You blocked out the light, which made sense. So instead of learning how to handle all this stuff that was coming at me, I basically was— and that's when I ended up in this very bad place in my life. And then I set about opening back up psychically. I learned about angels. I invited them into my life. I had this incredible angelic visitation experience and just did a really big pivot. So I bring that up because, you know, that's the topic a lot of times of your show. It made a huge change in my life. I've been working in politics. And higher education and then went to working as a psychic. So in terms of worlds, you don't get much different than politics and psychic. So anyway, it's— so my life ever since then has been, you know, very magical. And I'm really passionate about helping people understand how to access their own abilities and intuition, as well as understand, you know, how the sort of spiritual realm and the physical realm interplay.
Yeah. You had said to me just before we turned on the microphone that change is really fast-paced right now. So have you sensed that? Did you sense it beforehand? Is there— what is it about change and the pace of change that's got your attention?
Well, I think a couple things. One, are you familiar with the idea of the universe actually expanding, that it's growing?
I've heard of it.
Like, this is happening. And what's interesting is it's happening at a faster and faster rate, which is kind of mind-boggling when you think about it. So that's literally happening. Like, this is Everything is expanding, you know, everything that is in our physical universe.
Yes.
Yeah, the physical universe is expanding. And then on top of that, we have incredible change that's happening as a result of technology. I mean, you think about this from the perspective of communication or how long it would take something to transpire from even a few hundred years ago. You know, if you wanted to get a message from Europe to the United States, You had to go in a boat. That's a really long trip. And now it's like this microsecond with technology. And as a result of that, change is happening faster. And as technology shifts, it's happening faster and faster. You see this in the kind of micro and the macro— people that maybe had one career in their lifetime before, and now people are changing multiple times. And it's great. I think it's a wonderful thing because on the one hand, you don't have to be stuck in something. that isn't what you like. But on the other hand, it can feel like a lot for us to, you know, kind of process, especially at a body level.
Yeah, so maybe we'll dig into that because I think to me that's one of the things that is working in our experience that we aren't necessarily able to work with because we're unaware of it. And that thing that we're unaware of is how it is that our bodies and our spirits and our emotional body and all of that? How are we processing the speed of the change that's happening? And even as you just pointed out, which I hadn't been thinking about at all, is this ever-expansion, the expansion of the universe. Are we able to process that? Are we having difficulty processing that? And what have you noticed about that? And where do your own intuitive, your innate gifts, where do they show up to help? inform people about that challenge?
Yeah, so I think it's important more than ever to be really grounded in our bodies. And I mean, it is interesting because I think it's been known for a long time, for certain people at least, that things like meditation and mindfulness are really helpful. But because change is happening more quickly, we need to be even more conscious and aware than we have in the past, because it's kind of like if you're moving really fast, then Something that's slightly off target can like have a much bigger— like way further off track. Like, you know, you hit something going 10 miles an hour and it's slightly off, you're gonna go not so far. You hit something like 1,000 miles an hour or whatever, 100 miles an hour, and it's slightly off, you're gonna be farther off track than you want to. So I think being really conscious and aware, calm, grounded, doing things so regardless of whatever speed seems to happen, to pause, consciously in our days and check in to make sure that we are going where we want to go so that when we are moving so fast, we're going to the destination that we are intending to go to.
Yeah. I want to pause there both for myself to take that in and for others that are thinking to themselves right now, wow, that was really interesting what Laura just said. That let's say we're traveling down the road and We're intending to go one place and we're traveling at 10 miles an hour and we're a little bit off target, maybe 5 degrees or 10 degrees off target. How far at a certain point, let's make the constant sort of 10 minutes. You travel 10 minutes in a certain direction that's off, that's not on target, and you travel 10 minutes at a rate of 10 miles an hour, you're going to be a certain distance from that target. Now, math was never my strong suit, but I'm teasing.
Right. But it's not going to be that far.
It's not going to be that far. But if you're going 100 miles an hour or you're going at 1,000 miles an hour in that same period of time, that same 10 minutes, you've just blown my mind, Laura, because— seriously, because think about the difference in where you will end up, where you will be if you're off target. Right. And I think that's a really interesting way to look at the fact that change is happening so rapidly now. And with all of that and the fact that I think people are inundated with so much communication, so much information that they are just a bit dizzy anyway. So it's easier to get off target now than it was 50 years ago, I think, when there was so much less to distract us. Is that fair?
I think so. Everything that's happening now is kind of like a double-edged sword. There's some amazing aspects, but there's also some extra challenging aspects. The other thing is I feel like in the past, things would, you know, when there were issues, they would show up, but I feel like now when, again, you're kind of like Off target, if you want to use that same analogy, it shows up really fast. And I've noticed this in my life, even say from 10 years ago, 20 years ago, something wasn't aligned, it would show up, but it might take like several years for me to be like, wow, this really isn't what I want to do. And now it'll be like a day, a week, you know, where something will show up and the misalignment kind of pops up really fast. And on the one hand, that can feel frustrating. Let's say if it feels like you're trying to gain traction and it's some things aren't working. But on the other hand, it's like you don't have to go for very long before you realize if something isn't going to be in alignment with you and your energy. And so I think there's a good side to that too, which is you have the opportunity to more quickly course correct.
Yes. What I wrote down when you were speaking was the faster— the other piece of that is that you get faster feedback.
Exactly. Oh yeah, it's like almost instant sometimes. It's kind of amazing.
But here's the question, and this may be a great lead-in to what you do and what your very unique gifts are, and that is that if you're not present— so if you're not present, you could go off 10 minutes at 100 miles an hour, be in a very different place than if you were going slower, right? If you're not present to the fact that you're misaligned or there's a misalignment or something like that, then It could be 20 minutes. It could be an hour. It could be days or months before you have any clue that you are misaligned, right?
Well, I think maybe you might consciously not recognize it, but there will be signs in your life. And so if you, for example, feel like you keep running against a wall in something or you're not making progress in an area, then it's probably that there's something like this, that maybe you're kind of going off in that direction that isn't the one that's really Quite right. You're slightly off, but you just maybe don't have that understanding. So in my case, that's what happened to me. I had shut down my intuition and I basically was just kind of running myself into this path that was really not aligned path for me. There were lessons I was learning and so it was valuable in that way, but it wasn't like, this is where your kind of goodness in life is. And then things just seemed to get worse and worse and worse because I was kind of continuing to go off on like going down those kind of Broken path that's not really, really not a well-maintained road. Yeah, I took a wrong turn and I'm going down this like dark alley with a lot of like creepy stuff around.
And your foot pressed to the floor.
Exactly, exactly. So I think we get signs, it's just sometimes we don't understand them. And that's what I want to help people understand is how to pay attention to that, how to know we're off, how to get back on that. So
I want to talk about it with 2 words that start with S. So first of all, the signs and the solution.
Okay.
So I'd love to know what some of the signs are in your experience and how it is that you are able to sense or determine or discern the signs that other people are not able to. And that's where we'll— we can talk about exactly your role as a clairvoyant. What is a clairvoyant? How does a clairvoyant see differ from mediumship, for example, etc.? I would love to— let's talk about signs.
Okay, so we receive signs so many different ways in our life. The universe is constantly communicating with us, which may seem like a strange idea to some people, but it's communicating with us through people in our lives, through things people say, through things we see and hear. So, you know, something you hear on the radio or bumper sticker you read or a book that's referenced or a place. Animals will communicate with us. There's communication through numbers that keep popping up, and then you can look those numbers up and receive a message. So this is happening all the time. And one of the things I've been shown as a psychic, that for every time we even receive a message, it's probably been sent to us like 100 times, but most people just kind of aren't paying attention. They don't kind of speak that language. They don't know to listen. And then in terms of how I can help people with that is I literally see angels and spirit guides and communicate with them. And Directly. So that's something that most people have never cultivated. I actually believe that most people have way more abilities in this area than they know that they do because we just aren't taught this. I mean, I would love, you know, I have this vision of the future where when kids are learning the ABCs, they're also learning how to meditate and learning about psychic abilities and learning to tune in for themselves and pay attention to their bodies because our bodies are communicating stuff with us all the time. So Even if you're not using and understanding those signs, at the very least, pay attention to your body. Your body is so wise and has so much to share with you.
Are there some classic signs that you think people don't pay attention to that they could? You mentioned the body as an example.
Oh, sure. So physical illness in the body is often trained to tell us something or aches and pains. And sometimes it's something we just need to experience through patterns and through time to understand. I'll give an example just because it's interesting. So I've had a couple of times where I had some pretty major back pain and what you would typically do, go to the chiropractor or whatever, and it just wasn't getting better. And it wasn't even a situation where like, oh, I picked something up and like there was an obvious correlation of injury to pain, something that triggered said feeling in my back. And then it was through paying attention to kind of what was happening in my life and then doing a little bit of research. So looking up like what— because I do believe that different pains and physical illnesses often will represent pattern of things in our lives. So what I basically came to realize is that when I was having this back pain, that there was some kind of pattern or relationship in which I was feeling unsupported. And when we're feeling unsupported, ultimately the truth is we're allowing for that. So yes, that doesn't mean that there isn't someone or something in our life that is having this unsupporting energy, but it's our lack of boundaries with that situation that is allowing that in. So in the first situation where I hurt my back, I had— I was still continuing communication with an ex of mine where it was like I needed to just cut that off because it was just toxic and unhealthy. And then when I did that, my back got better.
Hmm.
And then the second time, it was a kind of similar situation with a client and personal contact where it was like interesting because I finally made this connection like, why is my back hurting? And then I realized the pattern with this person was the same as the one with my ex. Some of the communication patterns, things were popping up, and I was like, oh, I just need to release this person. And then my back almost immediately started to feel better. So paying attention and learning that when there's something going on in our body, there is something that our unconscious mind, our physical self, is trying to tell us. And what happens in most cases is people get upset even with their body. They're like, get upset. And they kind of send negative energy to their body and maybe go to healers that are really just looking at the physical. And I think the best healers are the ones that are acknowledging that sort of emotional, spiritual component. Yes, do take care of the physical. I'm not saying not to go to doctors. Go to doctors. Maybe go to chiropractor, go whatever it is that's happening with you. But at the same time, if you're not also addressing the other side, it's likely that you're not going to be getting the healing that you need.
Laura, really important that I think we understand If there are signs like language, like if we can't read a particular language, then we need somebody to interpret that language for us. And so it seems like there are plenty of signs that we also ignore because we just don't interpret signs.
Yeah, we don't even know to listen. And so that's, that's why I really want to help people understand this. So for example, in terms of body stuff, what is your body telling you with various illnesses or pains and things like that? There's a lot of online articles and things. And then in terms of a book, I recommend the book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. Which breaks down some kind of general terms. So like, what does it mean if you have a sinus infection or skin issues or whatever? And at least then it'll kind of point you in the direction of maybe the general area. You will still have to pinpoint in your life like the specifics that's triggering it. But I recommend for people to start paying attention to their body, or even, you know, when you're around certain people, do you feel heavy? Do you feel light? Do you feel a pain in your chest, etc.? All these things are really important to pay attention to. And then there's the external signs, so how the world around us is interacting with us. And we are getting those signs all the time, and it's a conversation. So just like communication with us, the universe is communicating with us, and we can ask for clarification. That was one of the interesting things when I started, was learning how you can ask for signs. And when— and if you're getting them, if you're not sure, you can ask for clarification or it to be sent in a different way. And some of the ways that it will come in will be quite striking and profound and also sometimes really funny but very direct. So I've had many, many experiences with this where the sort of answers that I received were so specific that it was kind of unreal.
Would you mind sharing an example of that?
Oh sure. So one time I was feeling like I was getting the message to travel this particular trip and I just asked for a sign and then I was driving and I was living in Burbank at the time and I drove by this travel agency that I, by the way, had never seen before. And the name of the travel agency was Travel Laura.
It
was like, okay, well, I guess that's pretty clear, you know. Classic. So it can be so darn specific that it's hilarious. And the angels do have a very strong sense of humor. And, you know, I recommend paying attention to the signs. And again, then paying attention to how things feel in your body. One of the most powerful things we can do is Do maybe like a meditation, release any just kind of pent-up energy that we have in our energy field to check in. So let's say we're trying to make a decision. I'm trying to decide between option A and option B. Just sit in your body. How does it feel to do the first option? How does it feel to do the second option? And you basically, if you can access that and just pay attention to even the subtle feelings in your body, thoughts that you have, impressions, It can help you basically look forward into actually taking that step. What would that feel like? And if you can trust yourself, you can help use that to make decisions. So for example, I got my certificate to teach English in Spain, and when I was looking at the different schools, there were like 13 schools. I was like, oh my gosh, how would you even compare all those? There's just so many. And so all I did was like, I literally just tuned into each one and kind of felt the energy of each one. And through that, I was able to pick one that was truly magical. I mean, some of the people that I met through that school— and this was about 10 years ago— I'm still in contact with now. And it was a really very synchronistic, wonderful place because, of course, any decision that you make is not just about that one thing. It's also about the people that you meet and the things that will unfold from that one thing. So in a way, where you eat, the route you take home, The school you sign up for, all these things have this kind of ripple effect in a lot of different areas that you might expect. So I really recommend for people to use their intuition in all different kinds of life choices.
Hmm. In your work, do you train people on some level to actually use their intuition?
I do, because of course, just like anything, it's so helpful to have someone walk you down that and help you understand the different things that are happening. So I teach group classes when I'm on location at various places. And then I do a lot of one-on-one training, which is extremely powerful with students, where we'll, through a series of times, just learning kind of basic psychic tools, you know, how to do it safely, what their particular gifts are. Because like you mentioned, clairvoyance— like, clairvoyance is one particular psychic ability, and clairvoyance means clear seeing in French, and that means seeing psychically. So you see psychically in the spiritual realm, believed to be in the pineal gland, which is in the third eye in the brain. Mm-hmm. And that could be that you see things in your mind's eye. It could be seeing things in the physical. Some people are empaths, which means they feel emotions and energies outside of their body in their body. Some people have what's called psychometry. You know, you would literally get information from like holding something and touching it like through your skin. Some people are clairaudient where they hear. So, and a lot of times these things are subtle until you've learned how to tap into it. So I think it's important to learn some general kind of psychic principles, as well as like how you in particular operate, and then practice that. So what we have now is a lot of people with an incredible amount of natural ability, and they've never received any trainings. They are essentially handicapped in the sense they just don't even know what to do. They just can't move forward.
Wow. The pace of change over the last couple of years has been rapid. And if you're a leader, a business owner, an entrepreneur, You know exactly what I'm talking about. Every day it's something different and something new. But the one thing that I've learned in performing at the height of all of those roles has been that we must be resilient. In fact, it's the unsung hero in every success story that you will ever hear about. And it's the reason why my team and I created the resilience assessment that more than 5,000 business leaders across the globe have And all you have to do to get your own free Resilient Leader Assessment is go to resiliencerank.com. It takes less than 3 minutes, and it's our gift to you for being the leader that you already are. Other free resources and tools will accompany your score instantly. So go to resiliencerank.com and find out just how resilient you are.
In that particular area because they don't have the experience or practice.
It seems to me that in the world that we were describing, talking about earlier, one that's moving so quickly where if you're off target, sort of the implication is that it could be pretty harsh or more harsh than it might have been when we were going slower. And obviously, we said then the plus side of that is when we're dialed in or we can sense that we're off, that the feedback is coming so much more quickly that we can then course correct, which is so key. The linchpin seems to be this idea of being able to get that clear thinking, to be able to get that ability to sense. My dad gave me advice when I left for college. Start of the show, I was talking about going to college. My dad said to me, trust your instincts. This was his only advice to me and it has still been the advice that I refer back to again and again and again all throughout my life is how to learn. My experience is that a lot of people don't trust themselves. I've had to learn how to trust myself and more often trusting my instincts has led to a better decision than almost anything that my head would have created for me or that other people's guidance or other people's opinions would have provided. So helping someone to trust their instincts or tune in to the internal signs that would provide clarity.
Clear seeing.
Right. Beautiful. Wow. What's the difference for those that might be thinking about— I've heard about a medium, like the, you know, The Medical Medium is a really wonderful book a lot of people have read. And what's the difference between a clairvoyant or the work that you do and somebody who defines themselves as a medium, for example?
So a medium, which usually is short for like psychic medium, is someone who can communicate with spirits and beings from the other side. And so I am both a clairvoyant and a medium or psychic medium, and clairvoyance is a type of psychic ability. So you can have a medium that is a clairvoyant. You can also have a medium that is— maybe their primary way to receive information is they're clairaudient, which means they hear messages. You can have mediums that are telepathic. So I'm telepathic as well. They're not like exclusive of each other, but they are related to each other. And most people, I think, when they think of mediums, tend to think of clairvoyance or someone who sees. But again, you can be a medium and receive information in different ways.
Wow. Yeah. People in business, just sort of dive into that a little bit. How is it that you are able to specifically work with somebody that's in business and is, I don't know, just either wants to gain a higher ground for themselves, create better results, or maybe it is that they've just not been able to get the recipe right yet to create? So maybe In the one instance, there's somebody who's successful but certainly isn't satisfied with that, whatever level they're at. And then there are others that are still struggling on some level to find their place in the winner's circle, so to speak. How do you help those folks?
So yeah, I work a lot with entrepreneurs and CEOs, business leaders, and basically just using my psychic abilities for business in particular. So psychic abilities can be used for anything. You can use them for, you know, looking at health or Relationship, looking at your life path, like what we talked about. Life path would be like kind of your— are you on the track of your road, the best road for you? And then with business owners, what I do is I just use my abilities to help with targeted information for them. Anything that is maybe something to help for them to help clear an obstacle, or, you know, what are their goals? How can we work with their angels and spirit guides and make some changes? in what they're doing to accomplish whatever it is that they're wanting to create. And I'm just doing it simply in terms of business. And I'll do that in 2 ways. One, I will ask the client whatever it is that's coming up, like what are they looking for, what do they perceive as their struggles, what's going well, what isn't. And then also whatever it is that I'm getting psychically that maybe they aren't even aware of. Like, you know, I had a situation recently with a client where she's looking to grow her business, and she is, she's expanding much more into like national, you know, getting some really big contracts for business, Whole Foods and some pretty major retailers, for example. And it came up that one of her top employees wasn't a fit and she was going to need to let her go. And it's always interesting when things kind of play out because at first, sometimes when I give someone a message, they may not, you know, kind of resonate with it. And in this case, she was like, I don't know, I really like her. And then 6 months later, she's like, yeah, I need to let her go. It just took a while for her to kind of See those things unfold, whereas I was kind of seeing the energy. And when there's a misalignment of energy, it's just a matter of time before the physical shows up, right? And so I can tune in and sense that and help people with getting, you know, kind of more on track more easily. And with people who aren't able to kind of tap into that, again, I just really recommend learning to connect with your own inner voice, learning to connect with how you receive information. Psychically, you know, I have a book, Diary of a Psychic, where you— there's like some specific exercises you can do on your own if you would just want to practice that. I also offer psychic training. And then I think the first thing is just starting to really pay attention, and that will do huge things. You mentioned paying attention to your intuition. The biggest challenge for everyone, whether you're working as a psychic doing readings for other people or even intuiting for yourself, is that the logical mind will often just completely counteract whatever it is that you're getting, and it's almost like this battle. between the logical mind and your intuition. And the more you learn to follow your intuition and things turn out well, then usually the easier it is to learn to trust that and not get pulled into that kind of logical fallacies. Don't get me wrong, logic has its place, but there are many times when the logical mind is overriding spiritual truth.
Hmm. And it's interesting, I think that often that logical mind is associated with more of The male or the masculine energy. Sure. And the intuitive or the heart space is associated with the feminine. So on that score, it brings to my question, are psychic abilities more common in women than in men? Is that a fallacy that there's— because there's certainly this prevalent thought that men are more from the head and women are more emotional or driven from the heart. So What are your thoughts?
I think that it can be easier for women to access that because maybe it's more potentially in their nature, but I think it's more actually that it's just more accepted for women. And I think all of us have that kind of male-female intuitive-logical aspect to us. It's just, I think with men, they're less likely to be taught to kind of accept their feelings and emotions. And like what I just mentioned, emotions are tied in and our bodies, paying attention to our bodies, are really tied in. With intuitive information. So I think a lot of it's societal and we just have to learn how to move past that. I think we're in a time where thankfully we're starting to allow and accept, for example, it used to be kind of considered unmanly for men to cry or to show emotion, which is total BS, you know. And thankfully that's starting to shift where I think most people are recognizing that that's not okay. That's not a good idea. And as that happens, it allows for men to connect in more with their feelings and therefore their intuition as well. Because a lot of times intuition will come in through feelings. The whole thing with like someone who's a dangerous person and like often people will have a feeling about that person.
I didn't know why I felt that way, but this person just gave me the, you know, the creeps or what, or just knew something was off or whatever. Right?
Right. But everything appeared fine. Maybe logical mind was like, no, I should be polite, or no, it's fine. There's nothing to be afraid of. Whatever. So the more we tap into the feeling, then the more easily we're able to connect with that. So I feel like that's part of what's happening with male feeling. But that said, there's a lot of very well-known male psychics, so I certainly don't think that it's that women have a hold on this area. I think we can all have access to that. Good. Yeah.
No, I'm glad you said that because I think there's some level of just that whole programming aspect of it and the stereotypes that are applied that will keep people from thinking, hey, I could do that, or that would help me, or any of that. So let's talk about resilience for a little bit.
Okay.
Yeah, cool. What's your beat on resilience and importance, if at all, to you?
Oh my gosh, I think it's so important. And what I've learned as a psychic is how so much of our— whatever may seem to stop or block our resilience is external. Even though it might not seem that way, meaning our thoughts are not just our thoughts. So I think one of the biggest challenges for people is the mind stuff that comes up when you're not in the place where you want to be or you're frustrated or things aren't going well, you're having challenges. The biggest obstacle that I think we can overcome is our mindset, the thought processes, the sort of patterns that we get into in our head. And I had a A huge lightbulb moment when I was really just opening up to my psychic abilities and I was reading one of Eckhart Tolle's books. I think it was Power of Now, but anyway, it's one of his books and there was a big thought in there, big, which was, you are not your thoughts.
Might've been The New Earth, maybe. I don't know.
New Earth, maybe it was The New Earth. I have to, I need to reread it again.
Either way, both great books, right?
Both great books. Yeah. It was just kind of a revelation for me because I think I'd associated myself with the thoughts I was having so much and the The problem with that is, especially if you're telepathic and psychic, which I really am, is that your thoughts are a combination of a whole bunch of things. Your thoughts— and I'm kind of putting that in air quotes here— are a combination of a whole bunch of things. So like when you're talking and I'm talking, I can tell when you're talking and I'm talking, right? It's like, oh, Randy's talking and then I'm talking. But with our thoughts, if you're telepathic, it's like all this information is just constantly coming in. It's like Joe over there is talking, and maybe there's a ghost over there, and your angel is talking, and you're hearing something from your mom. And it's all coming in and it's really important not to take ownership of that. So when people are going through big transitions, shifts, and struggles, it's really important to take ownership of all the negative mind talk that might come up. And as you learn to release that and really just engage with whatever it is that you want to engage with, then that can be so powerful in terms of pivoting and changing your life. And I found that a lot of times right before really positive, powerful things are gonna happen, that mind chatter can feel so negative. Like, I had a recent example where I was having just a very triggered day where I was having a lot of kind of negative thoughts, and I was like, what is going on? I didn't have anything particularly bad happen that would make me feel like it was a bad day or whatever, but just my mindset was not great. And I kind of checked in with my guides, and they're like, something really good is coming. And this is just— there's 2 things that happen. One, anything that's not aligned with a new energy vibration will clear out, will come up for clearing, and it can be kind of like spiritual detox, kind of unpleasant what's happening. And then there's also some beings, kind of energies, that'll be resistant to change and try to keep this sort of status quo. So that happened, and the next day I got reached out to by Will Ferrell's people to be on his new podcast, the Ron Burgundy Podcast.
Right.
So if you have a bad day or if something's— don't take ownership of it. Just focus on what it is that you want to have in your life, and keep in mind that when you worry or stress about things, it's like praying for what you don't want to happen. Don't take ownership of those negative things. Ask for them to be cleared and keep kind of redirecting. And through that, really major positive things can happen.
Beautiful. So if you were giving a resilience tip, let's say, by way of a ritual, something to consciously practice so that it could become a habit at some point, what would that ritual be? And maybe you can even share something that you do yourself to keep you in that reminded space.
Sure. So doing a meditation or a thought activity that's specifically focused on clearing out energy that's not yours can be so powerful. So I have a grounding and clearing meditation that's available on my website or on my podcast, Healing Powers Podcast. I also post it on there so you can listen to it there. But even just spending a few minutes, close your eyes, find a place where you can be quiet for a minute and just visualize any energy that you've absorbed that's not yours or that you're ready to release to go deep into the earth, just spend some time doing that. Usually you'll actually feel that energy shifting and releasing. And then after that, just focus on your breath. And doing that kind of releasing is so powerful. We are very taught to be here physically. We learn to clean ourselves physically. We take a shower, we brush our teeth, we wash our face, you know, those kinds of things. Mm-hmm. But our energetic, emotional, and spiritual cleanliness and care is, I think, just as important, if not more important in some ways. And it's really important to do that. And again, we're just usually not taught to do that. So just spending even a few minutes a day to do that can have some really profound effects in terms of our life as a whole.
So the washing, not just being external washing, but what would internal washing look like? For each of us.
Yeah.
How powerful. Again, Laura, that's a beautiful visual. For me, I love— I'm a water sign, so I love to get in the water. So, the cleansing piece is really profound on that side of it. And I realize that it's never just about, I like to smell good. So, there's certainly no aversion to doing what's required to smell good, but there's something more going on for me in the water than just the physical act of washing or cleansing.
Absolutely. And
so finding that thing that's yours, like, so not everybody's going to be into that. Like, you know, I'm going to go in the ocean, I'm going to go surf, I'm going to go swim, I'm going to take a shower. That is an act of— it's both a physical act of cleansing, which is so obvious, but it's also something that's much more on the inside. And meditation is one of those things that you just described, something where you could close your eyes and just think about Is there something that I'm feeling is either in my field, in my— that's impacting my energy, or is a voice in my head that I'm even questioning whether that's even mine? And even if you don't know, and I'd say this is just personal more than anything else, if I don't even know what it is that I want to release, that's okay too, right, Laura? Because you can ask the question. Yeah. You can ask for guidance about what is there. Is there something? that might serve me to become aware of and choose to let go or release? Yes,
absolutely. I mean, yeah, you don't have to know specifically what it is. A lot of times if you just set the intention to release your energy that's not yours, or energy that's yours even that you're ready to release, that alone right there is going to be really powerful. And what if you like this sort of shower, or excuse me, light water aspect, doing a Meditation where you visualize kind of a shower of light coming down on you can be very powerful, or being in a waterfall of light or something like that can be a very simple and effective tool to clear your energy fields.
Beautiful. Anything else that you want to— I don't typically end the shows in— not going to end the show in this way anyway, but I want to give you an opportunity to share anything else that you might in that space of how it is that people can cultivate more resilience. Is there something else you'd like to share?
Yeah, I just, I think a lot of times people are struggling because they are making themselves too small. They're aiming too low. And strangely, sometimes something much bigger like that we think of as much bigger to accomplish is actually easier to accomplish in our life. So I see that sometimes where people are like, they're struggling and it's like, another way to think about it is they're aligned, they're not in the right aligned energy. So then things are really hard, but if they pop up to that level where their kind of soul wants to operate, Then things can unfold a lot better. So sometimes when people are struggling, like, it's because you need to aim higher, you need to aim bigger and kind of get up to that next level. And we are way more powerful than we've been taught to think we are. Sure. And so when we can release that and just really get at like, what is it that really kind of sets our soul on fire? What is it that we are really passionate about? And then move towards that, even if we don't know how that could unfold. But just set that intention and vision, you know, ask your angels and spirit guides in the universe for help, and then just start to move forward. And it's amazing what can unfold.
Was the Will— the invitation from Will Ferrell's group to join his podcast one of those answers to that kind of a, you know, meditative prayer?
I'll be honest, I hadn't specifically said Will Ferrell, you know, I'd love to connect with him, but I had set the intention for like large-scale I want to reach a lot of people and I also don't feel like we need to suffer for our work. So I was like, I want, you know, I want to do more fun work and, you know, it's a comedy podcast. It was great. Totally. I was still answering honestly as a psychic. So even though it was comedy, it was still, I think, people learning from what I was saying. So yeah, you don't have to say super specifically like, I want that particular opportunity. If that particular thing is important to you, say it, but you can List like qualities or parameters for what it is that you want to bring in and then open up and see what transpires. And the cool thing is like I didn't pitch them, they reached out to me and, you know, you just never know what's going to happen.
Right. Playing bigger is such a relative thing and it means so many different things to so many people. So yeah, we've been getting calls a lot lately. It's a very curious thing that just in the last month or so, Since we'd helped a bunch of people to get on a TED stage to do TED Talks and that kind of thing, that all of a sudden that the universe is bringing us people that that's their definition of playing a bigger game, which it really is because to stand on that little red circle and share a message is like a trippy, mind-blowing, amazing growth experience. And there's a lot that can come from that. So, so interesting that you bring that up. Well, as we wrap up, I will share my waking ritual, which I love to remind myself of and remind as many people as I possibly can. So it's a part of my commitment in doing this podcast that this is a part of the way that we feel like we can have an impact and have it be positive. So my question, which I always ask every one of my guests, Laura, is did you wake up today?
Yes, yes, I did wake up today. And interesting time for me because I'm very busy in my life. Like I have A lot of interviews and clients.

Today. Big things I'm working on, and so I think I have to work extra hard to— like we were saying, like moving really fast, you have to make sure you're working on the right things, focusing on the right things. So I have to check in periodically. But when you work and connect with your angels and spirit guides, I think it becomes a lot easier to do that because you're receiving this regular kind of download and communication all the time. So I think that's really helpful for me that I can access this team of helpers that helps me do that.
Beautiful. So I hope that the question— now I'll put the question out to everybody else. Did you wake up today? I mean that both literally and figuratively because there's nobody that I've ever met that if I ask this question, I say, so when you went to bed last night, were you guaranteed that you would wake up? Today? And everybody's always got the same answer, which is that no, there was no guarantee. So regardless of whether what you woke up to, the kind of day, the kind of weather both outside and inside, regardless of that, it was a blessing. It was an unexpected miracle really in many ways that you woke up, that I woke up today. So in the presence of, in the face of that type of a thing, of a miracle or magic or something unexpected and something that's even sacred, It's easy to be grateful. So there's sort of 3 parts to my waking ritual. One is the waking itself, because again, we got to do that, and I'm hoping and praying that we all do it again tomorrow, right? And there's the second part of just that acknowledgement of what a blessing that is and to be in gratitude in that moment for that blessing. And the third piece are these 4 words that I've become accustomed to saying for many, many years and And have shared now with a lot of people as well. And those words are, I love my life. I love my life. Laura, what are those words?
I love my life? Is that what you're saying?
Yeah.
And I do. I love my life. And yeah, I hope everyone else—
I love the way you put that. It was, I love my life, question mark? Yeah.
Well, is that what you want?
Because I think that's really the case in so many ways for a lot of Yeah. Do I really love my life? And the question is, can you love your life no matter what? That's the thing. And so 10 seconds tomorrow when we all wake up, if you think about it for a moment, be in gratitude and give yourself a chance to— from the bed or from the floor or whenever it is, but you take those 10 seconds to say those words out loud and feel that energy and feel what it would be. What would it be like to love your life? No question mark. So, Laura, thank you for being a guest on the show today. Really appreciate you.
It was my pleasure. Thank you for having me.
