In this episode of the Change Proof Podcast, host Adam Markel interviews Chris Edwards, founder and director of Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs, to explore how neuroplasticity, vision boarding, and recovery practices can build mental and emotional resilience for high‑performers. The conversation begins with Chris’s personal story of multiple career pivots—from therapist working with emotionally disturbed children, to touring musician, to neurotherapy entrepreneur—illustrating a "change‑proof" mindset. They discuss how the brain operates on autopilot, with 95% of activity driven by past‑learned patterns, and how neuroplasticity allows both beneficial and detrimental habits to become hard‑wired. Chris explains the neuroscience behind vision boards, emphasizing that designing the desired self and feeling is more effective than merely listing goals. Using the case of Olympic skater Amber Glenn, they illustrate how visualization, neurofeedback, and biofeedback can help athletes perform under pressure. The dialogue expands to broader high‑performers, highlighting common hidden interference patterns such as poor sleep, nutrition, and chronic hypervigilance, and how these undermine performance. Chris describes assessment methods—including questionnaires, brainwave monitoring, autonomic and enteric nervous system evaluation—to identify and re‑wire maladaptive patterns. The concept of "bouncing forward" is introduced, framing resilience as recovery and adaptability rather than merely bouncing back. Practical tools are offered, including a free three‑minute resilience assessment (rankmyresilience.com) and the importance of foundational recovery rituals. The episode ends with a call to action for listeners to reflect on their happiness, align actions with desired feelings, and consider a recovery map for sustained high performance.

  2. everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Change Proof Podcast. I'm your host, Adam Markel, and I absolutely love the guest that I've got coming up for you today. His name is Chris Edwards, and he is the director and the founder of Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. I found out about Chris, his work, and Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs actually by reading a Wall Street Journal article about an Olympic skater who was having some trouble. In the big events. She's just truly amazing and a wonderful person and just an incredible performer. She could do something that most Olympic skaters, most skaters around the world could not do, a particular move that they could not perform, but she could, except sometimes when the lights were on, when the competition was at its peak. And this particular gentleman and his work in the world really have helped her to perform better under pressure, which is something really important in her arena, but it's also really important in the arena of business, in the arena of leadership, in the arena of life. And so I just needed to have this gentleman on the podcast, and you're gonna get to hear what he has to say about neuroplasticity of the brain and about how it is that we create resilience mentally and emotionally, what gets in the way of that, what will really keep us from being able to make certain changes in our lives and in our business lives. that would be optimal for us. So without further ado, I wanna welcome Chris Edwards to the Change Proof Show. Everybody enjoy. Okay, Chris. So first of all, it is an absolute pleasure to have you on this show, and I've been looking forward to this. And as you just heard, I, I shared a little bit about how it was that I came to know you or know of you and a little bit about your background and what the work you do in the world. My question to you is, at the beginning is, what's one thing that is not a part of your CV, your bio, your history that you would love for people to know about you?
