So I had a situation once where it was a brother and sister who were somewhat estranged from the father. They got in arguments, they didn't see him for a long time, and finally when he passed away, then they came back to the house, and when they looked at the will, it said that the live-in nurse, or the home aide, was the person who was gonna inherit the house, and the brother and sister were blindsided. Even though they didn't have a great relationship with the father, they thought— That he would be, of course, give them the house to split. You know, who else would get it? But apparently the nurse was very nice to him over the years, took care of him, even though he wasn't the nicest of people. You know, the nurse was by his side the whole time. He designated the nurse as the owner of the house. The house did lawfully go to the aide because he was of sound mind when he made that decision.
