Crazy Stories Of October | Halloween Podcast! | Biz To Biz Podcast

You are now watching the Biz to Biz podcast with Allen and Justin. Yo, what's up everybody? It's Justin live from B2B Vault, the Biz to Biz podcast sponsored by Nationwide Payment Systems, hosted by this guy, the George Steinbrenner of payment processing himself, Allen Kopelman. What's up, bro?

Not much. The World Series is over.

Hence George Steinbrenner. Yeah, you know, shout him out. I'm a Yankees fan, so I'm not going to shout anyone out on the Dodgers.

No, Chad, I don't know. I'd say one thing, the— their best player, Shohei Ohtani, or whatever his name is, he didn't show up at all.

So yesterday he was playing all right.

Yeah, what are you talking about? He did home run.

I don't even want to talk about it. Okay, go Yankees! Go Brewers! We'll see you guys next season. The Brewers are looking great. They have, you know, But anyway.

And welcome to the Halloween episode of B2B Vault. Oh, wow.

Yeah, it is Halloween.

It is Halloween.

Yeah, my kids are all adult. It's weird because I don't, it's like one of the first times in my, well, I think last year was the first time in my life, in my adult life, that I didn't have to buy a Halloween costume.

Wow.

And then we were grabbing something the other night And, um, in the complex that we were at, the woman at the register was like, you guys should go into Party City. They have— they're closing, right? What an end of an era, bro. Like, Party City closing. But, um, they, uh, she said that they're having like a 60% off. Nice. 60% off, uh, everything. Yeah. So Did you buy a costume? No, but we walked around. My wife found something for her for today, for her to be at school while everybody was dressed up.

Oh, okay.

So that was cool for like, I don't know, like $10. Yeah, I saw like, I mean, on the sticker price was like $75. Right. So she, you know, whatever she got, it was crazy. So she, it was a good deal. She found one for my daughter, but it's not like a, It looks like it's like a onesie. So to me it's like pajamas.

Okay.

So she's been walking around with the damn skeleton onesie for all week since we got it last week.

Okay. The— I saw like Adam's Subs where we get lunch from sometimes.

They have like a Halloween party?

No, they're just having a thing. If you walk in with a Halloween costume to pick up your food, they were going to give you 10% off.

That's cool. Yeah, I just ran to Wawa and, uh, there was a bunch of people in there dressed up.

Well, you know, I got on a hat.

What kind of hat is that?

Cat in the Hat.

There you go. Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Seuss. I'm gonna be Dr. Seuss.

My daughter actually asked me to get her a Lorax costume just randomly, just because she wants to do it. She wants to do— she said she's going to dress up as the Lorax for her for like her senior speech or some shit, something like that.

Okay.

So that was kind of cool.

So what kind of news story did you look up today?

I didn't have to look up anything actually. So that made my day easy. The first thing I thought was I wanted to talk about was it's actually business related.

Oh, okay. Business related.

I guess, I don't know. Yeah, it is. Because so, you know, Wu-Tang Clan.

Right.

Right, you know, you know, the group, the hip-hop group, super group, the greatest rap group of all time in my opinion. Um, they had a— in 1999 they dropped the sneaker with Nike.

Right.

The Nike Dunk high top.

Okay.

Well, in an interview with the RZA not too long ago, He was in Japan trying to, you know, he was sneaker shopping with his kids.

Okay.

And he was trying to get a— he didn't have a pair.

Okay.

So I want a pair of the Wu-Tang Nikes, right? So he goes into the store and the dude at this register is like, you can't get those. And he's like talking to the RZA and he's like, what do you mean I can't get those? And he's like, you can't find them. Right, there's not available, and the ones that are are like $100,000, right? So the RZA, he didn't like that, right?

Okay.

Um, so he was like, yeah, maybe it's time, because Nike had been— I mean, this shit, the, the sneaker itself, you know, is, you know, it's very wanted, you know what I mean? You know what I mean? Especially in the sneakerhead world, collectors.

—right—

just off the collection. Not even that it's the Wu-Tang Clan. It's just there was so— such a small amount to drop in '99. Like, you know, it's a special sneaker to have. Anyway, the talks with Nike have been going on since they dropped it, to put, you know, to release. But, you know, the RZA being the RZA, if you know him, he's all about that, you know, the mystery, the nostalgic, you know what I mean? Is, you know, that shit's fly, you know what I mean? You having a 1 of 150, whatever the release was, you know what I mean? That's very cool. So they're releasing the sneaker on November 9th, the Wu-Tang Nike Dunk. Okay. So if you're, uh, if any one of my people are listening and you have a sneaker plug, man, sign me up 100 times. I would love a pair of those. Straight up.

You'll have to tell Jacob about it. He's got some hookup on that.

Yeah, you know, it'll be tight if he does. Let him know I'm definitely trying to cop a pair. Well, actually, I need two pair. You need two pair? Yeah. One to wear and one to set up, put away for a little while. Build an investment. I mean, you would be, if you could get your hands on more than a couple pair and you could stash them and store them properly, It would be a very smart investment for sure. Because they're even, this shit is so cool. Like Wu-Tang is like, you know, I don't want, you know, whatever it sounds like I'm whatever, but they—

Justin is a Wu-Tang Clan super fan.

Let's just put it that way. Well, I'm not a super fan. I'm just this hip hop head, bro. And Wu-Tang is, you know, it's Wu-Tang. But so if you know Wu-Tang, they're like the Killer Bees are on a Storm. Type shit. Okay. And the— there's a special box. Okay. And it's shaped like a honeycomb, you know. You know, it opens up and it's got like the sneakers. So it's a whole thing. Some sneakers. It's got us some, some honey from Staten Island, which is the borough that the Wu-Tang's from. And then a t-shirt, a Nike. Nike's— I— yo, I want the whole drop. I wish I could— I wish I had enough money to get it, but I don't know how much it's going to be. It's not even at this time, at this point, not even about the money, but more so about like, uh, if you're— if it's even gonna be able to get— people are gonna snatch it up so quick, the box, crazy. But yeah, man, that shit should be dope. So interesting to see, you know, how it goes.

So I was looking up to see cool stuff about Halloween, so I found two cool things about Halloween is that Airbnb actually has, like, if you want to get like scared, you know, they actually have like haunted houses that you can rent, like, that are listed on Airbnb. Now I would be scared. I would not want to do this, but they list like on their website 10 like houses that are supposedly haunted, and then they have some like haunted mansions that people made. Like, you can actually rent The— there was a— they say the most famous Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus. I'm not into scary movies. You ever— you into scary movies? Okay, so we never watched that.

And the last scary movie I watched was Jeepers Creepers. Okay, so they say this is— that shit didn't even scare me though. Okay, slasher movies scare me.

Yeah, like that type of shit. Yeah, those like violent—

the character type things. Yeah, that like Jason, Freddy. Yeah, uh, what's the other one?

I don't know, the Halloween— Scream, the Scream mask.

I hate that guy, but, uh, that's Ghostface. Um, and what's the, uh— no, Michael Myers. Oh, Michael Myers. That's hilarious, you know, that's hilarious to me. But the, the creepy serial killer Not serial killer, but like, I don't know, like— Motel Hell.

Did you ever see that? That's horrible.

House of 99 Corpses. Okay, so this— That's bugged out.

So you can book the creepy cottage.

Rob Zombie. Those movies are bugged out.

So you can book the creepy cottage from the movie Hocus Pocus, and it's out in the middle of the—

Hocus Pocus was a Disney movie.

No, it's some scary movie. Look it up on your phone. No thanks. And then it's in Salem where, you know, all the witches are from and it's out in the woods. And then— Speak English, yo. Huh?

I seen a costume of a couple. Yeah. So the guy had a torch. He was dressed up like a pilgrim type shit. And the woman was just dressed up like a regular lady. Yeah. And the costume was him setting her on fire. Wow, that's crazy. I was like, yo. Dressing. They're, you know, I mean, back in the time.

So it has like every bedroom is like decked out like in the Scary Movie kind of themes, and then the— and in the living room is a big huge witch's cauldron. Okay, so it's like ultimate like Scary Movie shit.

Yes, that's— and that's— I've seen an article that said Florida has one of the like Florida is the most haunted state in the United States. Yeah, there was like a bunch of—

there was— it's crazy. You could look it up. We maybe will post a post for B2B Vault.

I can imagine there's probably a lot of slave owner, like plantation owners that had homes down here.

And so I don't know about that. There wasn't that much going on in Florida. No, I'm not—

I'm not talking about slavery. I'm talking about the people that benefited from slavery. Maybe it's possible. And so now they're dead and they're, you know, in the, the, the, the, the houses that they lived in.

I don't know, the haunted houses listed on Airbnb that say that they're haunted, like actual, like, whatever, that they say are haunted, they're all over the country. But then I looked up, like, so something else that's super scary is like a maze. You know those mazes? Yeah, corn maze. So there's like 500 corn mazes that were set up.

There's not more corn mazes in Florida than there is in Wisconsin. No, no, there—

no, there's a bunch in Florida, but there's 500 nationwide on this website. And, you know, similar to like The Shining, I bet you there's like 300 of them are in Wisconsin.

Okay, I don't know.

Iowa's got a lot of corn too, so, so, you know, I'm just saying, like the movie The Shining, that's a pretty scary movie.

Here I was, Johnny. I was a young guy. I, I didn't— I don't think I've ever watched it as an adult. Oh really? I was very young. Like that, American Psycho, Taxi. I watched not too long ago. Tech— what is that, Taxi, right? Taxi with, uh, Robert De Niro. That movie was insane. Um, yeah, no, like I said, I'm not a big— and the new stuff is just super scary, so I can't do it.

All right, so something else in the news.

Yeah, man, something else. And stop saying that. Okay, something else in the news.

Okay, okay, one of the craziest things.

So anyway, man, like I was saying, yeah, dude, there's a lot of shit going on in the news, but, um, there's a company that Sony acquired. Okay, and the name of the company is, uh, KinaTrax, founded by Steven Kadelvall. I'm sorry, bro, but the company is based out of Boca. Oh, wow. Yeah. So, and it's the leader in biomechanics and player performance, sports tech type stuff. So the website is kinatrax.com. I was taking a little look at it. You know, very interesting. Like, so it helps pitchers like form and batting. So how people swing and throw the ball. Um, and Sony's gonna— obviously, I'm a— I'm— I— in my mind, I'm— they're gonna use it for like their video games. Yeah, the technology, so that the video game will look even more real, right? So, which is spooky because the video game looks already very real. Like, I don't play sports games because the eyes I stopped playing sports games because of the eyes. The eyes? The way the eyes are on the video game.

Oh, okay. I don't know. Jacob plays them all the time.

The Madden, I remember when I had, I bought Madden. My daughter was so mad because I literally was like, I like threw it. You know? She is, yeah, she wanted to play it. But shout out to Steven, man. That's cool, man. Selling to Sony, that's big. You know, hopefully the company stays together and they don't butcher it, you know what I mean? Because that happens a lot when big companies eat up little companies, right? But it didn't sound like in the article that it sounded like they were going to be staying in their office in Boca and everything was going to pretty be ran pretty much the same. I'm sure that guy's going to be on a boat somewhere and relaxing, chilling, wherever, chilling. Yeah. Yeah, man, but there's so much other— I, I've been trying to stay positive. I want to stay positive. So the other thing I was reading was about Microsoft.

So Microsoft says that AI is going to be their number one revenue generator in the coming— I've seen this, and I was pretty surprised by that, but they're like upcharging on everything. So if you get Microsoft 365 there's an upgrade to it that puts AI into all the, all the programs. I don't like that. And then also, I mean, when you opt into this shit, yeah, no, no, it's like you have to buy it.

It's like an extra add-on.

Oh, but okay, to your Microsoft 365 Office package, there's like an add-on and then it puts AI into all your stuff. I don't want AI in all my programs. It's just weird. Okay. I mean, personally, I don't like it. It's already there. Spreadsheets. It's already there, Allen. I get that it's there to a point, but now it's like more.

It's just in your face. Right. And it's making you uncomfortable.

And they want you to pay more money for it. And also, like, the new Surface computers all come with some kind of AI copilot thing already built into it. Not sure if I like it.

You can turn it off.

No, I'm just saying, like, but just, is it really off?

Right, exactly.

It's like we said, is AI in the phone?

It's, it, man, it's been in the phone, right? We know that, but I'm saying, I feel like all I got to do is turn it on.

Turn the phone on?

Plug the AI, whatever, like, it's just in there, whatever. Click enter at whoever the developer is and they just click execute, you know what I mean? Click the mouse, execute. And it just pushes the update and then everyone's phone is now super AI-enabled. Right. I could be wrong, you know what I mean? But I don't—

I think it's already there. They just don't want us to know about it.

I think that it's there and that it's learning so that they can, when it is fully available for the consumer and the public, you know, that it's not shitty. Because the AI, like, in the search engines and The way that the search results are changing and it's changing SEO and just the way people write and everything, right? Like, you know, it's a, it's, it's, it's cool and spooky at the same time in, in, in light of technology advancement, you know, like most people are afraid of change and technology and using it like you, you know, you know, and I'm not saying like you, but you're saying you're being, you're a little apprehensive about it just being on everything. Right. Right. I mean, it is like, it's that quick. Next thing it's going to be in your car. You know what I mean?

Like, I don't like that. I don't want the government, you know, to get ahold of this. And then all of a sudden they can say, well, you can't drive.

The government has ahold of it and the government is going to use it just like Mark Cuban said. Like if, If the US loses the war of, you know, advancing with AI as far as military, we lose the race. You know what I'm saying? So I think that— I think that in general, people really need to embrace the shit and stop being so, like, confrontational or, like, against it.

Well, I think when you want to shut it off, you should be able to shut it off. What does that mean though? I don't know what it means. Shut what off? Whatever, how it's looking at everything. I don't know.

You got something important going on or you need to get it—

get out of the podcast? No, I'm good.

You sure? Yes. You're looking at your phone an awful lot.

Somebody, somebody sent a message that's not important.

I thought it was important.

Oh yeah, no, but it's just creepy. So here's the other— here's another creepy story in the news. It's Halloween. We got to do a creepy story. Creepy story in the news. Creepy story in the news. Okay. So, you know who the Menendez brothers are, right?

They're getting paroled.

Yeah. What do you think about that?

What do I think about the Menendez brothers getting paroled?

I mean, they went to jail, right?

What did they go to jail for? Murder. For those that murder. Of their parents. They mutilated their parents. Right. Didn't they stick them in suitcases? Yeah, or something like that.

Yeah, they did some bad shit, and then it was a long time ago, and they went grocery shopping and lived, and they partied and everything for a long time, right? Well, not a long time, but, but then they found the bodies, and then they still were living high on the hog.

Um, they were— I don't know, they got the money. There, there was— there's evidence that came out with the letter that one of the brothers wrote to the cousins. About, um, just about how the dad was sexually abusing him— them. Okay. And that wasn't able to be like in evidence back then.

Okay.

Um, bro, I don't know. It, you know, in today— so I try to think of it like today, right? Like if the same shit was to happen today, right? Right. I would say that those guys wouldn't have gotten the sentence they got, right? Okay. It would have been more of a self-defense thing, I think.

I don't know, it went beyond— I think it kind of went beyond self-defense.

But they were young still too, though, right? And so, you know, like I'm saying, I don't, I don't know what they were thinking. Are they criminal? Are they insane? Should they have been admitted to an insane asylum? Possibly, I don't know, right? Like, but you can't— they've been in prison for what, like 35 years or something?

Yeah, they've been in prison for— it happened when I was like—

I was a little boy.

I mean, I'm just saying I was younger.

I'm 44. So if that happened 35 years ago, I'd have been 9.

Right. And for me, that was— I would have been like 30 in my— I'm just saying, like, it was— and also like court TV wasn't like it is today. I'm talking about like when there was cases in court, wasn't covered the way it's covered.

Shit, when I was a kid, that was all that was on the news.

No, on the news, yeah, but not like on— No, yeah, no, bro.

What? They didn't have court TV. What is some shit? They would have those trials on TV.

Not all the time, like that. Oh, big ones.

Yes, before, even before O.J. I'm trying to think of who it would have been. Yeah, like Like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, when they were on murder was the case. No, no, I'm saying that, no bullshit, Allen. Okay. They were showing that shit on C-SPAN when I was a kid, bro. Okay. You could watch trials for real, for real. And I remember watching Donald Trump, all that shit back in the day, man. You could always watch a trial. It's public, public.

Right, but I'm saying it wasn't covered the way they cover it now.

We have social media. No, they just didn't have social media. That's the only difference. Okay. It was reported. Man, come on, Allen. You gotta remember, you have those sketches and that'd be on the news. Right. That was the social media then. The news was social media. Right. That's how you got your bullshit chatty patty super think pieces. Yeah. My grandma, ah, rest in peace, man. The shit that they would believe after watching a— you know what I'm saying?

Anyway, but yeah, no, so now they're talking about they might let him, let him go. I really don't know, man.

Like, I, I— do I think that they're going to get out and kill more people? Maybe, maybe. No, but I mean, prison ain't easy. No, no, but I'll tell you that. And if they've been, you know, on the shitty end of the stick.

Yeah, they've been in like the max. I think they're like in maximum security prison. That don't mean shit.

Okay, I don't know what it—

I have no idea.

I mean, I mean, you got to be a little bit twisted to cut up your parents, right? So I mean, anybody can cut up anyone. I mean, a loved one though? Yeah, I'm just saying like just to cut somebody up. In pieces is different, but to cut up your parents and put them in suitcases is mad wild, you know. So I, I don't know, I could, you know, I've had a hard life and I couldn't even imagine.

I can't imagine any of that, dude.

When I say like, yeah, that shit, man, do they deserve to be out? I'm not, you know, I'm not a judge or, or a part of that. I, I It's hard to say. I mean, people have done some way worse shit and been out faster than that. That's true. So, I mean, and if the, uh, the amount of, of abuse is actually true, right, at what breaking point, you know what I mean? Like, everyone has a break.

Yeah, everybody has a breaking point.

You black out, people black out, and next thing you know, you're chopping your parents in pieces.

I don't know, it's just a scary— I don't know, it's just a scary thought, like, that that could happen.

I mean, murderers get released every day, B. I know. Word up. And there's people that are walking around that have killed mad people they don't even know. That's true. So, uh, there's that. So at least we know they're getting out, and we know that they killed some people, and we know the people are going to be on their ass. They're going to be forever under spotlight. They ain't gonna never be able to go nowhere without the paparazzi, the feds, whatever is gonna be watching their ass for life.

Yeah, I wonder what happened. The parents were like multi— because they were like multi-millionaires. So I wonder what happened. I'm like, their house, all the stuff they owned, like where did it all go? I don't know who has it. Somebody went through some other family member.

Speaking of rich shit, I was reading about diamonds. Yeah. You know, my wife and I's anniversary coming up on the 13th. So I was like window shopping because I'll never be able to buy a diamond at this rate I'm going. But I'll never, not yet. Not this time. I love you, Justina. But so I was reading about lab-grown diamonds. And how popular they are amongst the Gen Z and, um, millennials. Yeah, definitely the younger people are into that. So I was reading about it and I was trying to figure out why, right? I mean, besides obvious, because there's not much of a price difference. They're not like— for a ring on— for that's just a regular diamond, right? You know, for a nice, you know, something that's not gaudy and, you know, just one of those ones that the diamond up here centered in the middle. Yeah, the regular diamond was like $1,400 and the lab-grown diamond was like $1,200, right? I mean, I'm not a— I don't wear— this is the most jewelry I wear, like this, this, you know what I mean? I used, you know, whatever, but I don't wear gold and shit. Okay, I'm not a jewelry guy, so I don't really know what the the going rates are for these types of purchases, but I was just trying to think. But so the obvious reasons is for the apparent reason that everyone knows, blood diamonds. Like, no one wants to be buying blood diamonds, right? So that's what it really— that's where the popularity is coming. And it's, it's cool that the younger generation is really, really pushing that forward because last year it went from like a billion dollars per year for the lab-grown, and now it's like almost at $20 billion a year. So, you know, that's, that's crazy. Well, I bet you that really, that the jewelers probably like it too, because then you ain't got to wait to make the jewelry, you know. There's a— you know what I'm saying? Like, they can— they got their own labs and shit. Like, you know, it sounds like a— I bet you if a jewelry store verticulated— vertigrated vertically integrated. Vertically integrated.

Yeah, they are making a killing. Well, some of the jewelry stores, like there's a particular one, I don't know which one makes it, the chocolate diamond, right? But that's their own lab-grown diamond. So they invested in the equipment, right? And they're making it themselves.

Oh, see, yeah, they're rolling in money like Scrooge McDuck.

Exactly. And I think like the popularity of the lab-grown diamonds has also pushed down the price on regular diamonds a little bit.

I don't know, but no, it has. Well, it had to have, right? Because there's not much of a price difference, right? So that had to regulate the diamonds, you know.

But I don't think the— the choice— the choice people are making is like, okay, this is lab-made and they're not using like child slave labor and etc., etc. to get this diamond out of the ground.

Well, yeah, it's— so that's kind of the— that's cool. It's, you know, and there's apparently like lab-grown diamonds, the clarity is better. They look— they last longer. Like you don't have to worry about the quality of it, you know, because as diamonds get older, they start to fade and shit. Well, they fade.

You could get a crack inside.

All kinds of stuff.

You know, obviously they're able to control the process more, like the exact pressure. Exactly. And where there's not like a lot of lines, you know, quality-wise. Yeah.

So, you know, shout out to the millennials and Gen Z's, General Tso's chickens. I'm hungry.

General Tso's chicken, that's some yummy stuff. Fattening, but—

General Tso's chicken.

Yeah, it's very— Shout out to the Tso's out there. It's delicious, but very fattening. Fried. What? That General's chicken, they fry it.

I can't eat it. You know, I've been on this anyway, that'll save it. But yo, that's the pod. Subscribe. Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween. That's it. Peace out. Carpe diem. Mash that button, subscribe, and share.
