What's up? So here's like I picked out like one serious story, one crazy story. So the crazy story is Elon Musk is going to— he's going to make this Tesla robot, Optimus.

Yep.

So you can get a job and be what he calls a data collector operator. It's going to pay up to $45 an hour. Maybe even up to 100 grand a year.

I've heard this.

And you have to work— I looked it up— 7 hours a day. You have to be able to carry 30 pounds. You have to wear some special motion suit and a VR headset. The only drawback is you could get VR sickness or have some related symptoms to wearing this VR thing all day.

Yep.

So that's kind of crazy. And he expects it to go into production in 2026. And basically, like, things that—

One in Fort Lauderdale. So you have to be able to, like, walk forward, squat and walk, sidestep, turn while walking, lift objects from the ground up to eye level. Squeezing or gripping objects and lifting them. Okay, we get the point, but yeah, use a drill. I thought that was interesting.

I mean, it's trying to get the, the, uh, the robot from what he's saying is supposed to like— his idea is basically to be like your helper. Like, you will have one of these in your home, you won't need a maid anymore, you won't need a babysitter, you won't need a, uh, chef, you won't need older people.

Have a companion. So yeah, absolutely, cleaning their house for sure, helping out with stuff. I wonder how much the robot's gonna cost.

I mean, tens of thousands of dollars, probably. I mean, if he's gonna pay someone, multiple people, $100,000 a year to be a data collector, I'm assuming that this piece of equipment is going to be quite expensive.

Probably to start off with. Yeah, it's a little dangerous.

I mean, for me, having anyone watch the movie I, Robot.

Yeah, exactly. I was just gonna say that.

But I mean, what the fuck? Sorry, there's something like in the air right now and it's like tweaking me out. I know my allergies were like, um, so yeah, like, but like in the future, I, I I grew up watching The Jetsons. So, you know, there was a robot in there. She was the cook, the maid, the, you know, like the person that watched the kids.

You didn't even drive the car, like whatever. They had their little thing, it flew them around.

Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. So they walked Sprocket the dog. She walked the dog. So like, I assume, I'm surprised it's not already like that. Like, 'cause I'm 44. So like I grew up watching sci-fi, Star Trek, Star Wars, you know what I mean? And all these things, you know, reading these sci-fi books back in the day, how— not even sci-fi books, but it was more like just people predicting the future, right?

Yeah.

And they would say how, um, flying cars and all this other shit, man, and we ain't got none of it.

Yeah, they thought by 2000 we would have like lots of stuff.

Yeah, for sure. 2000 was supposed to be the year we'd be living in the skies. There'd be cars flying around. Yeah, so obviously that has not happened. Technology hasn't really even gotten that far, to be honest. I mean, it has in the military, but not for domestic usage.

I mean, I think it's kind of interesting when you think back, like Star Trek and Jetsons, people were talking like Zoom meetings, right? They had like cell phones. They had, you know, the community holograms. Hologram. Yeah, we don't really— I mean, I see these things where they show these computers where soon you won't need a computer, you're just going to have like some small device.

Yeah, Jetsons is definitely the first cartoon or like that showed the Zoom meeting because they had all their meetings like that. Yeah, it was all tele—

yeah, tele-meeting with the doctor, with everybody, calling people.

That's how they call— that's how they talk to their parents, everything in that show.

Yeah, it was crazy. That's the exact opposite.

Did they still have money? I wonder. I'm gonna have to go watch that. Did they use money?

I don't— well, they got paid because you had to have like a job.

I'm saying, but like, I don't remember them going to a store though because this— I guess the show was always in the house, right? Well, there wasn't much going on.

Yeah. They didn't really— you didn't show them go shopping.

What's your Star Trek story? Star Trek was super advanced, bro.

Yeah, but we could look at it and go, what, what devices— like they got the tricorder and they could figure out what was wrong with We ain't got that. No, we need it.

Yeah, we do. The first thing that came to my mind, well, that I wanted to talk about rather, was the Google Core update for August of 2024. Right off the top, the headline caught me off guard. I was like, oh wow. So if those of you don't know, you know, there's core updates that happen all the time with Google and algorithm. The search algorithm specifically is what we're talking about here. Um, so they update the core to improve the search results and what people are Googling. They, you know, they want to be able to show you exactly what it is, right? They want you to be able to find it. Um, so they have these updates every, you know, quarter, sometimes monthly. There's a lot, you know, they update the algorithm constantly. So, um, last year in September, they had a core update that really impacted small businesses, um, because they— their process— so it's like process of elimination, right?

Right.

So if they— if Google thinks that your content is no plano, it sucks, and it's just spammy, then, um, they're gonna, you know, they're gonna penalize a site. They're not going to show you in those rich results and stuff like that. But the, the, the end results of last year's—

yeah, but didn't they do something where they were penalizing people for using AI last year?

No, I mean, it's just content It's all about quality of content. So 2023, the quality, you know, they did a core update and it negatively impacted small businesses. Um, so we've been complaining, lots of creatives and, you know, people in the digital marketing world were like, you know, just telling Google like to get on the job, get on your job here. Like you're, you're penalizing businesses who don't have like Nationwide Payment Systems was— is a perfect example. Last year when that happened, organic search traffic didn't drop off the map like some people, but I definitely seen a significant decrease in organic traffic. Whatever, you know, a couple months go by and, you know, we're— nothing really changed, right?

Right.

So I definitely felt it. I didn't I didn't look at it as like, you know, detrimental to everything that we're doing. So, but at the end of the day, so you reach out to Google, you know, you, they're always sending me emails like, hey, blah, blah, blah. Do you want to take the survey, et cetera, et cetera. Anyway, so this August, just, what is it? So it was 5 days ago on the 15th, They released another core update to correct last year's core update. So it's aiming to surface useful content from small and independent websites, meaning Nationwide Payment Systems as opposed to PayPal, right?

Right.

Like, because we can't compete with their budget, so at the end of the day, you know, we depend on these search engines to show people what it is they want to find, but also a good mix, a variety of businesses for them to choose from. Um, so yeah, not just the big companies.

Yeah, it's a problem because—

so that's their— that was their— their— yeah, they— that's what they said, you know. They, they said that time will tell, right? Yeah, we shall see. I don't know.

I don't know.

For me, like, so I've been doing this for so long and I've seen so many of these like penguins and pandas and all this hummingbirds and mockingjays. Like I've literally seen every, like for the past 15 years. And This to me seems like— I don't know, it's a Band-Aid, bro. Like, the way that they got it set up, I think it's monetized. And it's very monetized. And it's not— it's not— the results ain't always, you know, like what people are looking for. And people are looking for local businesses. They, they, they kind of do a good job, but still in the map pack, you still you know, there's favoritism shown and shit, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't own the search engines and you know what I'm saying? So whatever, it's a crapshoot, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like Nationwide Payment Systems versus PayPal is a crapshoot. Whatever day that we decide to show up first for a given search key, search word, you know what I mean? The search term. It is what it is, you know, it's up to them.

I think a lot of this is— some of it's like pressure from like the government where they were trying to get after Google saying it's a monopoly.

Well, it's funny that this comes out not even a week after Google, you know, gets, you know, found guilty of being a monopoly, right? You know, um, in that lawsuit— and this has nothing to do with each other in all honesty because This is for small business, right?

But I think it was part of what they were being accused of, of not indexing small businesses and showing favoritism towards the advertisers.

That wasn't a part of the lawsuit.

Well, it sort of was.

No, it wasn't.

The stuff that I was reading was talking about that.

Yeah, but that's not what the lawsuit was about. The lawsuit was about them controlling the search engine market. Well, that's the whole But I'm saying like the company itself, Google, you know, there's so much involved inside of Google. You got Google AdWords, Analytics, Search Console. I can keep going.

Yeah, they're in every phone.

Exactly. So that's what the lawsuit was about. It's like they're a monopoly as far as the internet goes. They're just— I mean, and in my opinion, they're the best. Like, we have Microsoft laptops in the office and it's a pain in the ass. It's so sickening that you have to deal with that type of shit. And it's— I don't get it. I don't get it. Google figured that out a long time ago. Yeah, like everything syncs like this. I don't care if it's a Mac or not. Like, that's why I don't even use anything Microsoft on any laptop, because everything's synced in everything. Like, it knows when I'm sitting, it knows when I'm sitting behind it, the— in front of the screen.

Yeah.

So it doesn't send me a notification that I got an email.

The thing I don't like—

any— all the other, other platforms, that, that, that don't—

that thing I don't like about Microsoft and laptops in general is every time you get a laptop, maybe the exception is a Chromebook, but that's not really a computer.

What do you mean it's not?

It's more of a tablet than computer.

Yeah, but it doesn't have like a lot of memory and things like that, bro.

It's a laptop, bro. You're not gonna get that argument. Okay, not winning that one.

But the thing is, when every time you get a PC, you have to go on there.

That's what I'm talking about.

You got to make a Microsoft account. It's ridiculous.

That's, that's why I don't get it.

You can't reuse your phone number for multiple email addresses.

Yeah, what if you're a small business and you have 500 laptops? What do you do then? What the hell?

Yeah, it doesn't make sense.

Like, I don't even want to know. I don't, I don't know. But yeah, so hopefully this core update corrects some stuff. I mean, it doesn't happen overnight. Don't expect your search, you know, your, your analytics to show like, oh yeah, you're getting like thousands of hits to your website overnight. That's not how that shit works. It rolls out slowly. You know what I mean? Who knows what?

who knows how it even really rolls out. So when it rolls out, it rolls out, and then by the next quarter there'll be another, another core update for sure.

So here's my, uh, here's my other story. So I get an email and I'm— I got a couple, and there's this company, National Public Data, NPD. They happen to be located in South Florida in Coral Springs. I looked up their office, it was— their address is at some like Regis office center, which seems a little shady, but apparently they're like an aggregator of all types of data. Mm-hmm. And they got breached last year in 2023. And their 2023 breach, there's a few articles from like the cybersecurity world, 200 gigabytes of data, 2.9 million rows of records, which includes people from the US, UK, Canada. Full name, emails, phone numbers, Social Security numbers. So out of all that, it's the largest breach of private data ever. Okay. And in the last 2 or 3 years, they said more than 2.5 billion records have been breached in 2022, '23, '24. It's a lot, like in the last 3 years we're having this. So now there's a big push from— I don't know where it's coming from— to, to end using your Social Security number as a way to identify people, because now all these Social Security numbers—

man, for me, man, this is just all just a way to to get us further and further into the mark of the beast where they put a damn QR code on your skin and they scan you, or your chip. Yeah, dude, I'm— bro, they start doing that, you— I'm out, man. You're gonna catch me in the woods somewhere.

That palm thing they have at the—

It's so half— this is just the perfect— it's a good example of what you're talking about as far as identifying someone. My daughter tried to go get her driver's license, right? They let her do all this other stuff, pass the written test, etc., etc. Goes in front of the thing. Oh, you can't use your Florida driver's license.

Oh yeah.

I mean, your Florida ID.

Yeah, because they have this new thing called Real ID.

It is a real ID. I know, but they're set up. She's all set up under the thing I paid for.

Yeah. So it made no sense to me. Anyway, no. Okay, so she's, she's whatever, she's doing some, and then they tell her that she needs— long story short, she didn't— she— you can't— she, she didn't— she lost her Social Security card a long time ago.

Who knows where mine is?

So in order to get a birth certificate, what do you need? Your Social Security card.

You do? Yes, you get it on— I just got mine like online. Maybe if you're older certain age.

But no, I don't— maybe in Florida that's how it works, but in Milwaukee, in Wisconsin, you need your— you need a— so you need a proof of, of residence.

It's crazy.

A photo ID.

And your Social Security card to get your birth certificate.

That's nuts.

And to get your birth— to get your Social Security card, what do you need?

Birth certificate.

Exactly. So she's been running around through hoops, bro, trying to, you know, get all these documents and stuff like that. So the Social Security office, they figured it out a little bit. They like send you a temporary piece of paper, right? Then you could take it to the Social Security Department, start the, the claim of replacing it.

that needs to end for sure. But I'm saying that, but then we're saying that does that end Social Security? That's a whole nother podcast. So I don't know, man. That's the whole—

I don't understand why that's not being banking, email, bills, any bill, right?

Any company that you're paying, they should just identify with that. And yeah, dude, that should be the, the one way that you should always be. I agree 1,000%.

And then like you have to go to the airport, right? You need CLEAR or you need the TSA PreCheck, right? TSA PreCheck's a pain in the butt. You got to make an appointment. You got to go there.

Because I don't even think you can get a regular ID anymore, Allen.

You have to get the Real ID. There's no— you can't just say, I want a regular.

I know, like when you go to the—

when you go to— if your shit is expired and you go to the—

oh yeah, it's a nightmare.

And you go to get a new ID, it's going to be the new one, right? Like you can't say, oh, I want a regular identification card. It's going to be the real ID.

The real Yeah, like when I moved from my place where I was renting and I bought my house, I went to get my new driver's license because I needed my new driver's license in order to file my homestead exemptions and taxes, right? Yeah. So when I went there, they're like, oh, you need a— I needed a bill from my house. I have the closing statement on the— for the house that I was moving into. I needed my birth certificate, so I had to order one from New York. Exactly. Because they wouldn't accept the one that I had. Right, they say, oh, we need a certified copy. But I'm just saying, like, you have this CLEAR thing. CLEAR, you go to the airport, you go, oh, I have CLEAR. They go, okay, you walk up to the thing.

I heard it used to be worth it, but it's not worth it anymore.

Well, it's a lot faster than—

It's faster than going through the regular line because everyone has it now. Not really.

So that's what I've heard, but I don't know if you're flying out, and depending on where you're flying out, it probably depends on the time of the day too.

I mean, I've went to the air airport the last time I traveled.

It saves your ass when you're running late. That's something that I would always find useful with that.

No, but when I was— went to the airport last time, the line was probably 300, 400 people deep, and there was, there was maybe 3 people in front of me, and you just cut in front of everybody. Yeah, and you don't have to take off your shoes, and you don't have to take out your laptop.

It's causing all this fraud that everybody— people are experiencing in their business. Business, right? We're experiencing fraud in our business. People file fraudulent applications all the time, right? So there's a fraudulent application, and then the application, you know, is— you find out, oh, they got that, they have the person's Social Security number, and they're trying to—

definitely a lot of fraud, man. But I don't know, man, what are they gonna do to fix that shit?

I don't know. That's the whole thing. It's like you said, why aren't they Why don't they just use like ID.me? Like, how come businesses can't like, say, like force everybody to get it right? Say, okay, you got to get this.

I mean, mass adoption is impossible.

Well, you need it to pay.

Well, I guess the only way they could have it is if you have ID, then you go to— when you renew your driver's license, then you have to get this ID.me. When you use your credit card, you have to do some two-factor authentication with it.

I don't know, man. We don't have the answer, Sway. Otherwise we'd be having it. But the other thing that I thought that really like for me, because I'm super into the culture anyway, for those, you know who Dame Dash is, right?

And Dame Dash kept his, because his piece of Rockefeller owns Jay-Z's first album, called Reasonable Doubt. Dame Dash, you know, he's a hustler, entrepreneur type guy. Um, at the end of the day, you know, he has money, but he spends all his money, you know, he invests all his money, right?

Not a lot, you know, when you're rich like that, you're playing with a lot of money, right?

And money is moving around. You might not make a bunch of money one year, right?

You might not make any money, but you, that doesn't make you not a millionaire.

Correct. Yeah, just because you're, just like Mark Cuban said, oh, you can't tax people's net worth, right? Just because you have net worth doesn't mean you have the cash. Exactly. Oh, you're worth $10 million. Well, how much cash do you have? They might have only a few hundred thousand dollars of actual cash.

Exactly. And that's Dame Dash in a nutshell, right?

He lives a great life. He's happy. He's always happy. Anyway, he just lost a lawsuit. Judge forced him to pay $1.2 mil. He said he ain't got it, right? Been going back and forth to court. Court is like, I'm done with this, you got to sell your share of Rockefeller. And basically, once the courts in like say that, right, his attorney just does it for him. Like, at that point, like, Dame Dash can't say I don't want to do that, blah blah blah blah blah. He's being forced to sell, okay? Um, but, you know, $1.2 million, that's a, that's a lowball-ass number to take for Jay-Z's, you know, you're talking about publishing rights, everything, you know. You, you're good. He's gonna make $1.2 million probably in 6 months just by owning, owning the publishing off of it right now, right?

Okay, so yeah, you know, you want to take away the whole thing just for one?

No, they're just making him sell his, his share of Rockstar.

How much is he gonna get for Well, you know, he's saying he's—

there's obviously it's an auction, it's going to go into auction, you know, and $1.2 is the starting offer, right? So who knows what it could go up to, $100 mil, right? You know what I mean? Um, a lot of people are talking about, like, people inside of the industry are saying like it's, it's a really bad investment right now because in 5 or 6 years Jay-Z gets his rights back to the record.

That's crazy.

Because after 35 years or whatever it being in circulation, it goes back to the artist.

It goes right back to the artist. There's no more— the contract, everything is null and void. It goes back to the ownership of the person who made the art. So shout out to Dame Dash. I love you, bro. You've always dropped so much game and definitely helped entrepreneurs and just people wanting to figure out, you know, how to make it, man. So good luck, bro. I hope it all works out for you, man.
