It's a big mess. I mean, they got a lot going on. Um, yeah, kind of crazy. But so anyway, how you doing, man?

I'm doing well. Good. It was a busy week last week. This week started off— get a little break tomorrow. Oh yes, tomorrow's like in the middle of the week. Juneteenth.

Very nice.

I've been seeing a bunch of those Cybertrucks around, so people been getting them. Obviously there's a lot of Cybertrucks around here.

I've seen a few of them.

Saw a black one, gray one.

When I was in Milwaukee last month, I seen one. Yeah, there's a lot of rich basketball players in Milwaukee.

Okay, so somebody—

baseball player maybe.

I don't— I mean, I don't even know how much they are, like $100 grand. I have no idea.

Yeah, I don't— not a fan.

I'm not a— I wouldn't buy one.

Do not like any of the Teslas.

None of them. I was—

one of my friends bought one. He said they're already like— it is completely upside down in it. What do you mean? Like, they're like— the value of the used Teslas is not that good because of the price of the replacing the battery.

So if it costs $20,000 to replace the battery, the whole The whole electronic vehicle thing is, uh, I feel like it's about to be kaputski.

Yeah, one thing is sales are down for all the manufacturers when it comes to electric cars.

Well, you know, people, they're starting to realize the cost and, you know, the long term of those batteries. There's nothing you can do with those things, so it's a problem.

That's a huge problem that they didn't think about.

Oh, I'm sure they thought about it. They just wanted the money. People don't care about the environment until after the fact, right? So yeah, man. Well, today's date is, uh, the 18th of June, 2024. It is, uh, 11:17 AM Eastern Standard Time. Beautiful Tuesday afternoon. Anyway, yeah, man. So it's, uh, I don't know who you want to— what do you want to start? Where you want to go? What do you want to do, man?

Well, let's talk about the biggest controver— the two big— the biggest controversy is that Apple wants to put OpenAI, apparently some kind of free version of it, in all the phones.

Yes.

Elon Musk is saying He's not going to allow employees to have an iPhone if it has OpenAI on it.

Yeah, well, I mean, the partnership, they're going to integrate ChatGPT into, um, the iOS, macOS, and iPadOS or whatever later this year.

And, um, but it's a deep integration.

It's going into what I, I was just reading about it. I wrote it down. I took a note, uh, GPT releases partner. Uh, so it— the, the scary part is that it's tapped in with Siri, so Siri can access ChatGPT.

I'm not sure I want them to be seeing all my emails.

You can— from what I was reading, you can opt out of all kinds of stuff. But I mean, bro, like, I was telling you the other day, at this point I don't know, man. Like, I don't— I'm not sitting here and thinking like someone's listening to us talk right now, but I think you'd be very naive.

It wouldn't be that far-fetched.

I think you'd be very naive. And, you know, if you were to think that your phone— as a matter of fact, the other day I was watching this guy. He was a part of SEAL Team Six. And he was saying how, oh yeah, you know how you think you turn your phone off and you think I can't listen to you?

Right.

I can do it.

Wow, that's crazy.

So it's just like, you know what I mean? Like the chip that's in, and he said it's in every phone, the chip that it's in every phone.

Well, I know that for a fact. So my son Jacob one time had one of those iTouch. Remember when those came out, the iTouch? It just played music.

The iPod Touch?

Yeah, it was the iPod Touch.

You said the iTouch.

Whatever. Okay, iPod Touch. So some kid took it from him, and it was in this kid's house who lived next door to me, and they said they didn't take it. But I kept driving the lady crazy that lived there, and I would go on Find My Phone even though months later right? It's obviously off and the battery's dead.

You can still send the signal to it and it goes beep beep beep beep beep beep.

So one late day I saw the lady was home and I just started doing that all day long, making the phone beep. She came over to my house later with her kid to apologize that her kid stole the iTouch thing.

Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's Insane.

She goes she ripped apart her whole house. It was buried in the couch. Yeah, she goes the thing was beeping and driving her crazy.

So yeah, so I guess the Siri is going to be, you know, it's going to have access to Siri, um, it's going to be available to its writing tools and image tools. I mean, pretty much everything, I guess, you know, at that point.

I mean, I mean, it's embedded in the phone.

It's integrated into the phone. So, I mean, I don't know. Do I think that it's— it's a little spooky, right? Because, you know, whatever. But you are, you know, you're using Siri. You're already— I think what we, you know, like the way that technology advances, you know, people get scared or people get weary about change in general.

I think the whole thing is like data collection. Okay, they're gonna have access.

Well, they says that, uh, privacy is built in and requests are not stored by OpenAI. It's what it says.

I don't believe that.

I mean, I don't know. I don't— if you For one, just off the, you know, how many iPhones are there?

Millions.

How many iPads are there?

Millions.

Exactly. So, um, how many Macs are there?

Millions.

I don't think they have a big enough cloud to store that data that we know about. I'm just saying, you know what I mean? I, I don't, I don't— I mean, the NSA, just because I'm not, I'm not afraid of the big bad wolf, I guess, is what I'm saying. No, but I'm saying the NSA, there's nothing can do about it.

That's true.

What are you gonna do about it?

Switch to some new third-party phone.

And yeah, right, you know what I'm saying? It's never gonna work. You're never gonna get a phone call. You won't be able to FaceTime your kids, you know what I'm saying? Like, what are we going to do about it, you know what I mean? And that's the thing that it, it kind of— it just—

as long as it doesn't turn into The Terminator, it gets me super—

like, it gets me going. You know what I mean? Like, it's like, why are people so worried about their privacy? People ain't that worried about their privacy, first of all. You know what I mean? Like, you put your whole life on Facebook and then Instagram. So you're not worried about your privacy. You don't even know what you're worried about. You know what I mean? Like—

Well, it's like everybody that I do business with, like, oh, we need an NDA. It's like— What do we do signing an NDA for? It's not like we can go, you're going to show us some software you made and we're going to be able to go mass reproduce it somehow, you know? You know what I mean?

No, I do know I'm making people sign an NDA.

Yeah, I know, but I'm saying what the chances of that actually happening is, is minuscule in the most cases.

I don't know, I disagree. I disagree. NDAs are a good thing.

Somewhat.

No, they're a good thing. Okay. For sure. Yeah, so I mean, that's nuts. But for me, it's me and my homie Al. We're, you know, Uncle Al, shout out to you. What's up, woo? That sounded like boo. I said woo. Anyway, yeah, I think it's cool. I think it's going to be interesting.

So you think any other besides Elon Musk? Rocky, stop it. Rocky, no bark. We'll be editing it out, some barking. Rocky. Rocky, come here, come here. No. Do you think any— Justin, do you think any other employers besides Elon Musk will say no more iPhones?

Uh, absolutely. The government.

Oh, I mean, I mean, it's gonna be, uh, it's gonna be crazy. People are gonna—

that's my point though. It's like, what are you gonna do about it? Like, they'll go to Google.

But how do you know Google doesn't have AI in their phone?

AI does have— it's built in, I'm sure. Bard, or what's the new one?

Yes, that's so like—

and then here's the other thing with Elon Musk. So I was listening to the news the other day, and what's that company called? The— what's the company makes all the chips? Nevia, right? Nevia. So apparently Elon Musk told Nevia Oh, we don't want— we're going to take all the chips that we ordered for Tesla, and he wants them all sent to his new factory that he's building, this massive computer in Tennessee for his XAI.

Yeah.

And I— and so he's building this massive computer, and he's building it next to the Tennessee River Valley. Power plant. There's like 3 power plants. They're the 3 big— one of 3 of the biggest power plants in the U.S. are located over there, and he's building it right near those power plants so he can get power from all 3 plants. Because I was reading like these AI computers use an enormous amount of electricity.

Oh yeah.

And, and also, so he's getting all these, uh, chips sent to that factory I looked on the website today for X. It's called XAI is the website.

Yeah.

So it lists on there that he's in the middle of doing— he already finished. He's doing a beef series funding.

So he's worth like $26 billion already, right?

Which is going to raise another $6 billion.

Yeah, I've seen that.

That's crazy. And he's—

you see that the shareholders are suing him for starting that company. The shareholders of Tesla, they are, they're suing Elon Musk. Well, X AI, right? We're suing Elon because he— the shareholders of Tesla suing— where I think I wrote it down.

Well, he's— they're saying he's making this X AI to save X.

Yeah, so Tesla's getting sued by shareholders for starting xAI for whatever reason. I don't, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe there's an AI company within Tesla.

I don't know.

I don't like a— what would that be, like an umbrella or whatever? Yeah. Of Tesla. I have no idea.

They're saying he's doing it to save the X platform because he lost billions with it already. But now he's going out also and he's getting all these money service licenses. So that he can have like P2P payments, like what PayPal was originally.

He said he wanted that. I mean, so at the end of the day, I don't think Elon Musk is ever really looking to recoup money for that social— no, X. I don't think that's— not the point of him. He literally bought X to give it to the people again, right? So I don't think he wants creators to be able to get paid on the platform. And from what I've been seeing, they actually pay pretty well for when you create the content on there. And they don't— I mean, it's the Wild Wild West again. There's porn, there's violence.

I heard he's gonna really allow— he's like totally allowing porn on there.

Oh really?

Yeah, he's gonna totally allowing it. No, he's going to allow it. He's gotta put in the, he's gotta put in, like if he's gonna—

Tesla after dark. If that's for, I mean, Twitter after dark, X after dark. That's why he probably named it X, 'cause I mean, you know.

It's gonna be XXX.

He's smart. I mean, like to me it's, you know, it's how Twitter was back in the day.

Right.

So I like it, you know what I mean? I'm not sitting there scrolling and watching pornography.

Right.

I mean, that's not my thing, but you know what I mean? Like, I like X. I always, uh, you know, I, I, I use X.

So the Federal Trade Commission can't—

and he asked, did you see that Elon asked what on his Twitter? He asked, should we change it back to Twitter? Yeah.

Oh, I didn't see that.

Yeah, he did.

What did people say?

A lot of people were saying no. I mean, no one really stopped calling it Twitter, right? Like, I mean, most of the time you— I don't— I just, for the sake of the podcast, I'm trying to make it a point of like being on point.

But well, still, you go to people's websites, they still have the Twitter, uh, logo. For sure, they haven't changed it.

A lot of websites, they just, uh, redirected the whole— I bet whoever was doing— shout out to his, his tech team for, uh, switching that domain. From twitter.com to x.com or whatever it is, right? That was— I'm sure was a ton of work.

The, the one thing—

scary work.

The one thing is, is the FTC started weighing in on all this AI, and of course, you know, Visa and MasterCard started weighing in on it too. And because they're coming up, you know, people are coming up with stuff like therapy bots, AI girlfriends, uh, grief bots, um, AI friends. Uh, what's wrong with that? No, just that they don't want— they want to make sure that like nobody's using like celebrity voices for these things, celebrity lookalikes.

Um, You know, I mean, good luck with that. Well, there's just like pirated music.

Well, this— I'm just saying, like, the credit card companies are shutting it all. They're like shutting it all down if you don't have proper, um, proper things on your website to like prevent that from happening. So they've been shutting off a bunch of these, uh, ones where the pictures are supposed to look realistic. I've seen a couple of them. Some of the websites were a little too elementary, like legs were missing, the arm was missing off the person. The pictures weren't that high quality. And there's other ones where it's just an avatar, but it talks to you.

So like a, like a cartoon?

Yeah. Yeah, like a cartoon, uh, anime, anime.

What's— so they're cutting off the anime ones?

No, only if they're trying to look like a celebrity. Okay, so they want— so they have to like not look like a celebrity, not have a celebrity voice.

Um, I think that's interesting that that's a— I mean when you— when I think of all these movies about, like, the sci-fi movies when I was a kid that were, like, predicting the future—

Blade Runner.

I don't— I didn't— was not a Blade Runner fan. But yeah, like, uh, there was a lot of virtual reality in those— in the movies. There was a lot of, like, hologram—

Star Trek, they had the holodeck.

That's what I mean. Like, so, like, uh Why are these companies getting— does it— that's again, it goes like people are afraid to change. They're afraid of accepting something new, right? Like, you know, they don't want, you know, they're—

I guess it's like name, image, likeness.

No, I understand all that, right? But at the end of the day, like, you're not gonna stop people from doing that. Like, you're just not—

they want to get paid, I guess. Celebrities.

Well, yeah, I understand that too.

Like, somebody sent me one and they had an AI thing, and then the AI girlfriends were all named like Kim Kardashian but not spelled like that, so it was spelled differently, right? That's just—

but it's just not being original, right?

And then I Googled the picture, you know, took the picture and put it in the Google Images. And it came up and it said it looked like Kim Kardashian a little bit. So the bank was like, no way, not— can't do that. The guy needs to go back to the drawing board. It's too close, they'll get sued. You know, they had a bunch of movie stars on there. I don't know why people would want to look at AI porn when you could just get regular porn. I'm just saying.

I, you know, I concur.

I mean, I— it's crazy.

Yeah, I mean, no diddy. Anyway, uh, that's— yeah, that's—

yeah, I mean, here's what the FTC had to say in the end of their thing. It says, is it possible that companies will ultimately develop all these services in a way that merit no FTC attention? We pose the question to the magic 8-ball, the FTC's magic 8-ball. The answer, the outlook, not so good. So that means the FTC is all over these federal trade, you know, federal trade is all over these, uh, AI websites.

I mean, they have to be, right? Like, if, if 'Cause their concern is privacy, et cetera, you know, people that exploiting—

Well, no, copyright infringement.

Privacy, yeah. Yeah.

You know. All kinds of stuff. I learned about this, like there's a new law that's coming out in Europe, hasn't gone into effect in the US, goes into effect in Europe in 2025 and 2026. And it's all about having digital proof on, uh, like expensive items like textiles, you know. So like brands that make expensive handbags and things like that, so they're gonna have a special tag on it that proves the ownership. That's cool. And that it's real.

That's cool.

And it's probably going to come to the US too.

No, that's smart.

And it's needed in the world because you got too much— a lot of counterfeit products out there.

I mean, it's cool, but like, I don't really give a shit, you know?

Right.

I mean, I'm at the age where like material things don't mean much to me.

No, I get it. I'm not a big— I'm not materialistic on that stuff either. But I'm just saying, like, you see these guys, like somebody goes to the shoe store, right? And they're like, oh, are these real Nikes? And the guy's going like this with his hand. It's supposed to make some special noise. Or not making noise. I mean, who knows? Now you'll be able to scan—

oh, that's a real thing in the sneakerhead community for sure.

But I'm just saying, but now you'd be able to scan the, scan the serial number.

I don't understand why you— a lot of times, like, how come you wouldn't just scan the barcode that's on the sneaker if it has it? I don't know, or whatever. There's a product number or something on it.

Yeah, there is, but it doesn't identify that pair of sneakers. They're talking about identifying each item.

On Nikes, you definitely—

I'll have to look on a Nike.

Pretty sure that it has a unique identifier on everything.

Yeah, so, so now you'll be able to like scan it and then it would check a database and you would see that. And it would be for like all kinds of other manufacturing too, to also for the origin of the products. So if it says, oh, it's using, uh, Egyptian cotton or whatever that— what's that special cotton?

Egyptian cotton is nice, right?

So you would know whether it was real Egyptian cotton or organic cotton is nice, or organic. Well, you would know because it would also verify the origin of the, of the products. It's kind of interesting because there's a lot of counterfeiting going on.

I forgot to ask, did you see Elon dropped his lawsuit against OpenAI?

Was— I mean, they were in a fight. He was like on the original board of directors.

He started the company, right?

Start the company, right?

Yeah. So he was suing OpenAI.

For, um, basically not looking out for the people's best interests. Sam Altman.

Well, they kicked him out, then they brought him back.

No, they had nothing to do with what he was suing him from, right? Saying he's suing OpenAI that You know, like they're the boogeyman.

Yeah, who— I'm not sure. It's a little crazy, but he was—

he dropped his lawsuit a couple days ago, I guess, last week.

I just think that's kind of crazy that he's building this like special building over there in Tennessee to house this big X.

Super smart. I mean, he's gonna be able to power his whatever he wants to power over there off the— and he's not going to have an issue, you know, with latency, right? You know what I mean? Like, he's going to be able to, you know, do what he wants to do. That makes sense to me. If I had the money and I was, you know, trying to build or, you know, create some sort of supercomputer technology, you know, I would want my power to be A1 too. I hate when the power goes out at the house because it just messes up everything.

Oh yeah.

So imagine having like a power— a brownout in his, uh, at one of his facilities. How many problems? How long does that take for his company to get back up and running again?

Days? A week? No idea. I'm just saying, like, it's because that's a lot of shit to boot up. I'm sure when they build a lot of buildings, like, there's some hotels that were that are built down, like, built down here in Florida, and they, and they bring in, like, power. They bring in separate power from generators. Yeah, no, no, not generators. They bring in power from, like, two separate power plants that FP&L has.

Oh, right, right.

So the way, just, you know, if you're built, if you're in a certain area, you know, the, the power feeds from different places. Like, if you're out in West Broward, right, there's power feeds coming into the, into the area from multiple power plants. So if the power— one power plant goes down, there's still like power coming. Yeah, it's a little crazy, but yeah, he apparently like— I looked it up online, it's like 3 of the largest power plants in the U.S. I guess one of them is powered by the Tennessee River or something. Like a dam or something.

And Tesla, right, is suing its former supplier for stealing EV battery trade secrets.

Probably in China.

Yeah.

Is the company in China?

I don't think so.

Really? They were making most of the Tesla batteries in China. I don't know.

I forgot to, uh, I see like China is making a lot of, uh, electric cars.

On the tip of my tongue too, like Merix or something. I can't remember the name of the company. Matthews? I think it was Matthews.

Yeah, so there's— I guess they, uh, leaked some, uh, documents or something regarding to the, uh Tesla's battery, so they're not happy. I wouldn't be happy either.

Yeah, well, there's a lot going on with like manufacturing trade secrets. Yeah, Matthews International.

I was right. Matthews Tesla stock alert.

Battery supplier Matthews International. Tesla stock is slipping on the news of the lawsuit. Claims battery supplier misused its trade secrets.

Something like that.

Yeah, man, there's all kinds of—

Tesla is having a hard year.

Tesla seeking their Cybertruck—

their— the windshield wiper just breaks. You see that? Yep, just falls off like in the middle of rainstorm. Listen, this— if it gets wet, it won't— donezo.

Yeah, we can't have that in Florida.

Can't take it to the damn car wash from that they were saying.

Ah, bro, that's bad. Yeah, no, it's all bad. Tesla's having a tough, tough time.

I mean, they just had a bad problem in California where they had that power issue out there. They've had it a few times. And then all of a sudden no one can go to work because they have more electric cars there than anybody. And now the governor—

someone in California found out that there was copper inside of the charging wires.

Yeah.

And just been going to— they— you can't go. There was like a whole town that was decimated. They was chopping off the charger.

Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah, they were stealing the cables off of the charging things to steal the copper. Oh yeah, I saw that.

Word.

But it—

but, uh, yeah, Tesla's having a tough time.

But in California now, they want to put a tax on EV cars based on how many miles they drive because they don't have any money from gas tax anymore. Good. That's crazy, I guess.

Good. California's nuts. Yeah, man. So if you got any, uh, insight on OpenAI integrating into that, uh, iOS system, is it going to affect you Let us know, you know, and what are you going to do about the change?

Yeah, you're going to stop your employees from using Apple products?

I would probably stop them from, you know, if I had like some sensitive cybersecurity company, uh, security, anything like, uh, banking, all that type of stuff. No iPhones for sure.

I'd be scared to like log into my bank account. They can— I don't know. I don't think so.

I mean, it's no different from another app on your phone, Allen Kopelman.

I know, it's just crazy. I'm just saying, it's just like Big brother.
