Threads vs X (Twitter) Which One Is Better? | Biz To Biz Podcast

Two hosts debate Twitter's rebrand to X and compare it with Meta's Threads. Most websites still show the old bird icon, and LinkedIn probably won't swap Twitter handles for years. They see X as easier to use than Threads, and discuss niche platforms like Leafwire for cannabis businesses.

You know, so, you know, now it's like a— now there's like a thing. What's better, uh, X, formerly known as Twitter, or Threads? What, you know, I can't figure out Threads, what's going on over there.
Oh yeah, this is definitely the guy's signature move, Triple H.
Yeah, Triple H signature move. Yeah, he had a— what was— he did something to people. Oh, speaking of wrestling, you know what I saw the other day getting interviewed? All right, you know what I saw? I saw— I see this guy getting interviewed on TV about an energy drink, and they go, oh, what's the name of the energy drink? So the guy goes, oh, it's called Woo. And I was like, what? Woo? And who was it? It was Ric Flair.
Nice.
And he's got an energy drink called Woo because that's what Ric Flair used to say.
I'm having a hard time holding these gators to the ground. Yeah, man, so the Twitter, the Twitter thing is nuts. And then on top of that, I mean, we talked about the Threads.
No, but just think about like on your website, right? You have all the social media like icons. Everybody's still got the bird on their website.
Yes, they do.
Yeah, I see it everywhere still. People aren't changing it up.
Well, I mean, that's a big update. To push all those. I mean, for all the websites using the icons that come preloaded to the, you know, like WordPress and—
Yeah.
I mean, who knows how long that'll take.
Yeah, that's crazy.
I mean, I could probably— I know I can manually go and change it now.
Right. But who's going to go and do that? Not everybody wants to go do that. Yeah.
Well, no one knows how to do it.
Oh, I guess.
It's not a big deal. It's not a like, oh my God, it's gonna take me 10 hours to change.
No, but if you got to go change it everywhere, it's a lot of changes.
Like, I'll have to do some changes.
Yeah, like you see on like your social, like on, let's say you're on a LinkedIn platform, it says, oh, oh, what's your Twitter handle?
Still that— I mean, that's— how long do you think— that's not up to Twitter, right? That's up to LinkedIn to go have their developers go in there and make the changes. It's— that's I don't know how that's going to work, how long that takes. That rollout's probably going to take a couple years.
Exactly, that's what I'm saying. Making it into a big— he—
by changing it just to X, that's just insane. But whatever. Bad. I would say that was a bad business move, but what do I know? I don't know.
Yeah, well, I'll take half of Elon Musk's money and burn mine.
Oh, his dad gave it to him.
So, okay, well, he's making plenty too. What do you think about like all these secondary platforms that have been popping up lately?
I like Threads. I don't think it'll replace Instagram. I mean, Twitter or X by any means. The people who— the core audience of X is going nowhere. Especially like people my age. Yeah, we use Twitter, right? Like, we use Twitter all the time. I haven't mastered it, but there's nothing to master. That's your problem. That's the problem right there. That's, you know, there's nothing to master. And people think of it as you just try too hard. Okay, you just— it's free-flowing thought. That's it. It's like you see something outside, like, man, I really wish it was like summer in 1988. That's it. There's no— there's no like, okay, that's, that's just, just Twitter, you know, like, or if you're outside and you see, hey man, I just seen an accident on I-95, be careful. That's Twitter.
Okay.
Like, literally.
Well, I don't know what's going on on Threads, but the same crap. Yeah. Okay.
But yeah, I would— I mean, it's literally the same.
And what's kind of funny is, is, you know, like, we see all these social platforms and then like from the business you know, like business type platforms, you know, you basically have LinkedIn and then whatever the cousin of— not the cousin because it's not related to them, but you know, then you have like Alignable. And then after that there's this guy in Alignable, guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have the greatest spokesperson on the planet Earth for Alignable, Allen Kopelman. Let's give him a round of applause. Okay, because it— man, no, I mean, you, uh Since we've been using Alignable, I mean, I've been on Alignable since it started. Like, I got the— we got— I got the early invite, right? Like, you get to be the beta tester or whatever. So I don't— what, 5 years ago?
Yeah, a few years ago it started, right?
It's like Leafwire.
Yeah, Leafwire.
It's the same thing.
It's the same.
If you look at Leafwire and you look at Alignable side by side, you can't tell me that, that they— it's not the same thing.
It's somewhat the same.
Yeah, I I mean, it's just different people on there, right?
Yeah. The LeafWire is the cannabis, cannabis answer for LinkedIn.
