Ashley, Andrea, and Nikki test how different milks affect food coloring spread. They hypothesize whole milk's higher fat content will create the largest burst when mixed with dish soap. They'll measure the diameter of color spread across 1%, 2%, and skim milk.

Hi, my name is Ashley. Hi, my name is Andrea. Hi, my name is Nikki. And this is our experiment called Color Symphony. So our question is, what different types of milk affect the size of the burst of color in a plate of milk? The explanation for the burst of color is that when you place food coloring in milk and dip dish soap in the middle, it will cause a burst of color creating a circle shape.
Um, our purpose is that which different types of milk will will make the food coloring scatter the most.
And our hypothesis is if we put food coloring into different types of milk and use dish soap to expand the food coloring, then whole milk will cause the food coloring to spread more because the fat will break down as well as cause the food coloring to scatter.
The independent variables are 1% milk, 2% milk, and skim milk. The dependent variables is the measurement of the diameter of the food coloring scatter.
The materials that we will need for this experiment are skim milk, 1% milk, 2% milk, whole milk, 4 plastic plates, cotton swabs or Q-tips, 4 different types of food coloring, dish soap, and a ruler.
So now we're gonna go to our experiment. Part 2! Yeah!
