Short instructional clip (YouTube) by Angela Caglia explaining the differences between a Gua sha tool and a facial roller. She contrasts their functions—Gua sha for sculpting/lifting with more control and force, roller for gentle lymphatic drainage and de-puffing—and gives practical usage tips (use oil, 3–5 swipes outward/upward, hold tool at ~15° angle, use small edge for brow lift).

Are you dying to know what is the difference between the popular Gua sha and the popular roller? Well, I'm going to walk you through right now. Now, the difference between the two, the Gua sha, you have more control. You can see how I'm able to sculpt and lift and I have more force and control. The roller is great for lymphatic drainage and puffiness. So that's more of a gentle, light roll. This, you can really get in and sculpt your face. So this is perfect to go in and sculpt and lift. So when you apply the beautiful oil, what you want to do is go in quite quickly and you want to start sculpting. So you want to go in one direction, not back. You want to go out, out and up. And you want to go three to five swipes. But you want to also hold like at a 15 degree angle close to your skin. If you're holding it like this, you're doing it wrong. The smaller edge is perfect to get up and do a little brow lift. Who doesn't need a brow lift? So the gua saw, super fun to use. Do it in a couple minutes, it doesn't take long at all. I hope you enjoy using my Gua saw and my roller.
