Takeaway assignments let you work on a UX problem for 3-4 days at home. Whiteboarding challenges happen live on Google Meet or in person with no prep time. Pick the whiteboard if you're confident, because solving it on the spot impresses interviewers more.

A quick difference between takeaway assignment and whiteboarding challenge. Well, in takeaway assignment, you get a problem statement which you can actually take away for 3 to 4 working days. After that, you can solve the entire problem statement, make a small presentation out of you, just like your case study or a portfolio, and then send it over back to the recruiting manager or the HR. Unlikely in whiteboarding challenge, the problem statement cannot be taken home as a takeaway assignment. You will have to solve on the very first place with live audience, which is the design team or the product team in a Google Meet or one-on-one in the personal space in an office and solve the right problem statement right in front of them. That's the only major difference. If you ever get a chance to select from takeaway assignment and whiteboarding challenge, if you're really very good at your UX skills, make sure that you always take up a whiteboarding challenge because it explains in the very first place that, hey, you're confident enough with your skills.
