The video features Marka Boricho, Global Diversity Lead for Early Talent Campus Recruitment at RBC Capital Markets, describing the RBC Capital Markets Women’s Advisory Program created in partnership with AmplifyMe. The eight‑week cohort brings early‑career women into simulated capital‑markets environments, exposing them to multiple asset classes, trading‑floor dynamics, and direct interaction with traders. Participants recount how daily trader exposure, realistic simulations, and role‑playing as traders or salespeople deepened their market understanding, boosted confidence in speaking about markets, and inspired career shifts toward trading. The program is positioned as a barrier‑removing, fun, and applicable pathway that equips women with the skills and networks needed to secure internships and future roles in capital markets.

My name is Marka Boricho, and I am the Global Diversity Lead for Early Talent Campus Recruitment at RBC Capital Markets. The RBC Capital Markets Women's Advisory Program takes a cohort of women early in their academic career and connects them with opportunities to network, to build up their understanding of the world of capital markets to build up their skill set and prepare them for their recruitment for internships in the industry. In partnership with AmplifyMe, we were able to design a set of simulations that were extremely relevant, constantly being updated.
It was just a great way to understand more about the market, but also what to expect on the trading floor. Over the 8 weeks, we managed to go quite deep into different asset classes and different ways to trade and look at the market.
You're working with the traders every single day, and when you've had that exposure to what they're looking at, I think it makes you a much better salesperson. It's putting you in the shoes of the trader or the salesperson.
This is what a trader would do, this is what a hedge fund would do. You've got to be in that kind of mind frame, and that's what we had to do with AmplifyMe.
It was a really good way to get used to speaking Speaking to people about markets, it gave me the opportunity to see those different roles and push myself to think, actually, I would like to try out trading.
Being able to kind of do the simulations with AmplifyMe, I think for me that was when I realized I wanted to be a trader because I really enjoyed it.
And then it becomes, okay, I can do this.
We've taken away that barrier, now it's focusing on the actual role itself, and it feels fresh, it feels fun, and it feels really applicable for these young women coming into the industry.
I'm so grateful for the experience because look at me now!
