Anthony Onesto delivers a short "daily burst" video about organizational culture, recorded live from Richmond, Virginia. He warns that culture is hard to create and maintain, arguing it is embedded in an organization’s purpose and operations rather than surface perks (e.g., ping-pong or foosball tables). He urges leaders not to take culture for granted and to thread it through the entire organization.

Hey, everybody, it's Anthony Ernesto. This is my daily burst of knowledge for today, Tuesday, January 10th. I'm coming to you live from Richmond, Virginia, where SmartUp is building our hub. Super excited to be down here, but I've been thinking about culture, specifically around businesses and how important culture is to an organization. Now, a lot of people have been talking about this these days, and us HR folks have been talking about this for decades. But the thing I'm talking about in culture is how super hard it really is. You know, oftentimes we think about culture as a saying or a couple of values that we put into an employee manual or something that we post on a board somewhere or some sort of poster or some frame. Actually, in some cases, we actually do frame them. But culture is really something that's embedded in your organization. It's not a ping pong table. It's not a foos table. It's the purpose of your organization and how important that is and then how that culture is threaded through your organization. There's absolutely positive business impact to culture, and. And we're seeing a lot of that in organizations these days, but it's super hard to do. So don't take culture for granted. Think really strongly about what your culture is and then how do you thread that through the entire organization? That's my daily verse for today. Great seeing you. See you tomorrow.
