Anthony Onesto delivers a short daily micro-lesson (dated verbally Jan 26) arguing that sustainable, game-changing innovation in large organizations depends primarily on people and human capital. He references training based on the book Exponential Organizations (which studies firms like Uber and Airbnb) and emphasizes the need for genuine change management focused on behavior and mindset rather than superficial change processes. He encourages leaders to propagate an innovation mindset across their organizations.

Hey everyone, it's Anthony Onisto. And this is my daily burst of knowledge for today, January 26th Thursday. And I've been thinking about innovation and I've actually gone through training for exo, which is Exponential Organizations, it's program that was pushed out by Slim Ishmael of Singularity University via his book Exponential Organizations. What it did is it looked at the successes and the exponentiality of companies like Uber and Airbnb, studied them and said, okay, here are the commonalities and this is how companies would do this moving forward. And it also talked about how larger organizations could can do that and bring innovation within their larger companies. And the one thing that it does cover, but not in great detail, is the people side. Right. So the challenge of most innovation, particularly in large companies, absolutely has to do with human capital and people. And I think it's one of the areas that larger companies really need to focus on. Change management and not change management as we know it, because that, you know, we know that doesn't work. But real true change management, understanding behaviors, understanding why people are hesitant to drive innovation within organizations and real true innovation like game changing innovation, not sort of iterative innovation like a 1.0 or a 2.0 of a product that already exists, but a completely new product. Right. So that's, that's what I've been thinking about lately and wanted to share with you folks. Think about innovation. How are you driving innovation across the organization? Now not everyone can be completely innovative, but you can at least push the mindset out there within your organization and there are various tools to be able to do that. So that's my verse of knowledge for today. We'll see you tomorrow.
