Youngest Indian Coach's Incredible Fitness Transformation Journey (2024)

In this interview, health and wellness coach Aravind Padmaraju, Ph.D., speaks with Gargi Arya, a teenage inner‑child healer and India’s youngest life coach, about her holistic health transformation through Aravind’s coaching program. Gargi recounts her pre‑program struggles—constant over‑work, lack of physical activity, reliance on junk food, and chronic procrastination—that left her fatigued and misaligned with her mind. The program, led by coach Sushmita, emphasized accountability, weekly goal‑setting, and habit‑stacking. Gargi adopted a 20‑day cycling challenge, regular dance classes, a balanced diet, structured rest and sleep, gratitude practice, and daily goal‑writing. These small, sustainable habits boosted her energy, confidence, creativity, and even her coaching business, enabling successful course launches and new ideas. She highlights a striking incident where she could stay awake for late‑night calls, illustrating her newfound stamina. The conversation concludes with Gargi’s advice to young people: holistic health—integrating mind, body, and spirit—is essential; focusing solely on mindset is insufficient. The interview underscores that lasting health change is built on simple, repeatable habits rather than short‑term weight‑loss goals.

Okay, welcome everyone for one more successful, successful story of one of our, uh, champion or a warrior. So first of all, my name is Arvind Padmaraju. I am a health and wellness coach and I help busy parents and busy professionals how they can use their habits to transform their health, not only physically but every part of their life— physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. So today we have guest, um, and our, um, uh, today our guest is, uh, Gargi Arya, who is, um, inner child healer, life coach, and the youngest life coach in India. So I wanted to welcome you, uh, Gargi. This is, uh, it's, it's a great journey we had with you, and, uh, I wanted to share your journey with, uh, a lot of people and your experience and what are the changes you brought in to with your own health transformation journey with us. And, um, so, uh, I'm just handing over to you. Just could you please introduce yourself, what you do, and, uh, what is your current aspirations, and why did you— how did you came across the, uh, why did you want to decide taking your health journey ahead?
Okay, uh, so thank you so much, Arvind sir, for having me here. Uh, first of all, like, hi everyone, my name is Gargi Arya. I am an inner child healer and one of the youngest coaches India. Uh, so I had this belief in my mind that, you know, only working as a life coach— I always used to feel working on mindset, working on your life, uh, you know, hard set skill set is enough. But somewhere I always used to feel that I'm ignoring my own, uh, you know, healthcare. I'm ignoring my own body, my own fitness. And from then on, you know, whenever you're working 24/7, your body starts giving you signals. That, you know, something is not right. And I was always ignoring those small, small inputs that my body was giving me as a message. And thus, you know, who could be better than you to help anybody in their health journey? And that's why, you know, like, I came to you for the health program. And the kind of transformation, when I'm going to share in a few while, like, who I was before and who I became after, I'm going to share. I'm very excited.
Awesome, awesome. That's amazing. First of all, I really wanted to appreciate, um, you're able to realize the, the power of having that holistic health, uh, because most of the people, um, they only focus on one area of their life. If they are more into a mindset, they leave their physical body and their nutrition part. And some kind of a people, they only focus on nutrition and physical body, they leave the mindset. But I think you comes to a second category of the person who knows already the power of a mindset. And I really wanted to understand what What was your life before, um, um, going through this transformation? I know that you are already a very successful coach and with this Engage, and I know that you know how to use your mind to excel into your life, but what was your, uh, could you please give us some little information about what was your physical health state and what are some of the challenges you are facing, um, with your physical body and overall health-wise?
So some of the challenges which I was facing before coming to this program was first, I was, uh, you know, like not giving myself the rest I needed. So it was always 24/7 working. Second thing was, uh, there was no physical movement in my life because it was always like, you know, you are working as a coach, so it's all online and then sessions go again and again continuously. So there is no scope where I always wanted to But I think procrastination came here in my, specifically in my health area where I was not working on any single thing. Third thing was I used to get tired very, uh, you know, quickly. So one of the major thing was, uh, since January 2024, I was, it was in my mind that I want to record some new courses. And you know, uh, this is something which I realized in your program being with, uh, you in that, uh, health coaching. So what was happening was my mind was like, I want to make, but my body was not supporting me that, you know, let's make it happen. And one of the major results which I got in your program was as I started to work on my body, the alignment came between my body and my mind. And thus there was never a procrastination thought. It was like, okay, mind may idea, then I need to implement it. So that was the third thing, which was the challenge. And the fourth challenge was that, you know, sometimes I used to eat a lot of junk food as a teenager. So it was— and without any workout, it was like getting a little fatty. So that was all happening before joining the program.
Wow. Yeah, I can, I can completely relate with you, uh, Gargi. I know that as a coaches, I think, um, we tend to give a lot of less importance to our health, but That is where actually you rightly said there's one more thing, right? A mind and body has a strong alignment. If they are not aligned, how strong you are with your mindset level, body doesn't cooperate, then you will not be able to see your full potential. So you rightly said that. So tell me how, what happened during the program and what are some of the changes or some of the improvements you see in your overall health journey and what are some of the achievements you could able to do it because you are able to focus on your health. So that helped you to— what are the actions beyond your health transformation journey?
So like during the program, I would definitely say the accountability was very strong. Like it was like, you know, in our life, our moms are always behind us. And in this program, I was finding Sushmita ma'am behind me every single time. Like I remember that I always used to forget clicking pictures. Of the food I'm eating. And she was always after me that you need to send it. Uh, so first is accountability and support which I got. It was like because of the major accountability and push, I was able to start my health journey. Second thing was, uh, you know, like she made, uh, different, different goals. So, uh, we used to connect weekly, uh, weekly once, and she used to give me some tasks and I need to update it on a daily basis in the group.
Just to give— add all the listeners, what she is saying is we focus on habits building and we focus on stage, stage by stage habits building. So you are— she— you are getting help on building habits. That's what you're saying, right? Okay, great. Yeah.
Yes. So a few things which started happening was I started, uh, I took a challenge with myself. It was a 20 days, uh, you know, cycling challenge. So I used to go in the morning also. Sometimes if time allowed, I used to go in the morning and evening both. And I used to, uh, like tell her in the group that this is happening. Then next thing was, uh, you know, sometimes what happens is we are not able to see changes in ourselves, but when my mom or anybody else used to tell me that, you know, uh, there is some change in the way you are looking and the way things are happening with your fitness, So I, uh, you know, like it was also getting compliments from other people, which was making me realize that yes, something, something is happening with my body. Third thing, uh, especially after a program, when the program ended, first thing I took in action and I joined the dance classes, as I told you. So dance classes, uh, being regular with the workout. Second thing which started happening was the cycling, you know, cycling daily basis. Third thing, uh, reducing the amount of junk food. So junk food less and healthy food more. Fourth thing was, uh, I think this is one thing which I started doing, is giving myself the rest my body needs. So sometimes even when my mind is active, still I need to give rest to my body. So, uh, it's like after 9 PM or 9:30 PM, rarely I have calls. And if ever I have called the next day, I try to give my best falls. Uh, so it's like giving rest to my body, which somewhere I used to feel guilty when I was taking rest. And the fifth thing which has started happening is, of course, the energy level. Like, health is not only about losing weight, it has more to do with your food, the, you know, like, weight loss, also the energy level that you are having, the glow on your face. So all these things I have learned and I've started implementing.
Wow, amazing, amazing. I'm super duper happy, Gargi, for all the changes. I think the overall thing what you achieved is now it has become part of your life and these small, small habits shifting what you did. But how did it help in overall other part of your life, especially in your coaching? I know that you are a very aspiring coach and I know that last couple of months you've been very consistent with some of your launches, which I'm also seeing it. So how did it help you in your coaching journey? Um, because of your focusing on your physical body and improving, uh, your health and other ones.
Okay, first thing I would say is, um, I have made a good relationship with nature, I think. So I am not someone who is regularly going out in nature, but yes, from balcony only I feel very good when I see nature. Uh, second thing is, you know, when, uh, your body is active, you get a lot of creative ideas. Yeah, so all the launches which has been happening, I think major, uh, credit I will give to you and Sushmita ma'am and the whole team. Because of, uh, you all helping me to focus on my fitness, I have been able to get some great ideas to implement in my coaching. You know, next thing is, of course, when you start working on your fitness, you also start feeling a lot more confident than you already were. So confidence also started coming. Then, uh, you know, like, I just love to be, uh, working all the time as well as giving myself the rest. So I think one of the things which I did was today and yesterday I was on complete break. So complete break was there. Otherwise, even taking one day break feels like guilty. But I think the first time, this is the first time I've really given myself that break which I was needing. So yes, these are a few of the major belief things which have happened and the physical fitness which has happened.
Awesome, awesome, Gargi. I'm amazed to see that the amount of actions you are taking, and I know that you are already an action taker, but after shift happened in your physical health and you are able to take much, much easier. And also, can you tell me, I think you also mentioned about your energy levels is spiked up like never before. And also you told about one incident where you were not able to— after a certain point of time, you are able to feel low on energy. But how did, uh, what, what happened with your overall energy during the whole program?
Yes, so, uh, this is basically a very funny incident which happened. I was not able to give time to one of my community members, uh, like our calls were getting a little late and she's like a night person, so I knew that I will tell her at nighttime, she will come. So I told her that, you know, that day, whole day I was continuously on calls and I still told her that, is it okay that we can meet 11 PM to 1 AM in the night? And she was like, she was giving me that hats off salute to my energy level. And if I tell you before the program, it was like after 8 PM or 9 PM, I was like on bed. So, but that day even I was shocked that how can I give myself, you know, that much amount of stretch. But I think it was not stretching myself, it was like I had the energy to do, so I told her. So it all came, this energy all came just because of started working on myself plus the mindset rituals. And one of the things which I would like to tell here is also before joining a program somewhere I lost my consistency over my mind routine as well. Yeah. Mindset rituals. I was like waking up very early or waking up very late. So my morning and sleep time was also not scheduled. Sometimes 4 hours, sometimes 6 hours. So it was always messed up. But after the program, it's like, you know, some— only when there is a lot of work, then only I give 5 hours sleep. Otherwise, I'm taking 6 to 7 hours sleep. And this is one thing which I also grabbed from the program that I did with So thank you to you and Sushmita.
Thank you, thank you, Gargi. But I'm really, really amazed to see the, the amount of the actions you've gone. And I know that what was, uh, you had a major launches and you are able to still follow both of them. And what are the some of the simple habits you changed in yourself and which become now part of your lifestyle? Because a lot of people thinks that weight loss journey has to be, or, you know, health journey is just a short-term journey, because I, I completely against it. Health journey has to be like how you brush your teeth. The habits has to go as part of your lifestyle because it— you have to carry this body for rest of your life. So the habits are very, very important. And I know that you mastered some of the habits. What are the few things you took it as I'm gonna do it for rest of my life?
Uh, so first thing is, of course, uh, like, you know, cycling.
Cycling is exercising regularly is your, uh, the first habit. Okay.
Yeah, absolutely. So exercise. Second thing which I took is gratitude, uh, which I somewhere lost just because of all the schedules which was happening. So, uh, gratitude. Next thing where I'm very consistent is the diet plan which Sushmita ma'am gave.
So like, you know, focusing on a balanced meal more than—
okay, then the next thing, uh, because I think as a teenager, uh Many people focus on their health, but I am not someone who majorly not very focuses on our health. So this is also one of the daily practices which I've started inculcating. Then like, uh, I also learned something called writing your goals on a daily basis in the program that I did. So it's like mindset plus health, both the ritual. So exercise, gratitude, uh, you know, maybe sitting in nature sometimes. So these are 3 to 4 habits which are like a new normal for me.
Yes, and I think also you mentioned about the sleep. Now you are giving more importance to recover yourself and rest also. Yeah, rest. Amazing. Awesome, Gargi. And I think, I think, uh, lovely, um, discussing and sharing your experience with us. And I really wanted to appreciate you for all your efforts. I know that as a teenager A lot of people, it is very difficult for them to see that when you are already at physically it's good state, it's not that you are obese or anything, to take action and take this as a routine. It takes a lot of efforts and I'm really, really glad that you were able to realize that and make the whole changes. And also you're inspiring many people and through your coaching you are helping a lot of people with that and it has added more value in that. I really, really wanted to appreciate. And I think, as I always say, right, it is not a one-person job, it is always a teamwork. I think I am hats off for your efforts even with your busy schedule, and I'm really looking forward. So before we end the session, what is the one thing which you wanted to give it to the people that why should any, any person focus on holistic health? Because you focused on every area. It's not about just losing weight. I think losing weight was never been our goal in this whole journey. It is more to that, you know, building a habit and how you can improvise your energy and how you can feel more calmer and peaceful and also have the routine going as part of a lifestyle was the focus. But what is the one single thing you want to give it for the lot of youngsters? They think that, you know, they still have a lot of time. Why should— what is the one word you wanted to give them that, you know, why should they focus on health? And with that, we'll end the session.
Yeah, so I think the one, uh, message for coming from my personal experiences only that, you know, only working on mindset is not enough. It's also working on your body and having that alignment is very important because sometimes, uh, what will happen is, uh, you will take action, you will do every single thing, and your body will keep giving you signs that, you know, something is not going right. And, uh, until and unless you don't hit that last point where your body is like, enough is enough, then at that point you are going to fall off and doctor is going to give you thousands of medicines that you will have to take. You will have to go for operations. You will have to lie down on bed. And that is something which will have a huge gap between you and your career life. So I think this is one thing. So give rest as well as, uh, you know, have that alignment between your body and your mind.
Yes, awesome, awesome. That's amazing, Gargi. It was, uh, great talking to you. Thank you for taking time and sharing your experience. Hope this will inspire many youngsters and the people who, who are not even taking the health as a priority. And, uh, thank you for coming and sharing your information. So that's all, uh, with this interview, guys. So that's what that Gargi and Not only she transformed her physical strength on the body level, and she got a lot of awareness about what is some of the habits and how she can take this journey for rest of her life, and how she improvised her energy, and how she also grown her business by having more alignment with the mind and body. So what I wanted to also share, one thing is it's all about alignment. It's not that the rocket science. You just need the small, small changes and simple habits which you need to build into your lifestyle. And once you can start taking that small, small actions you take, you will be amazed that, you know, how much of your body can give and your mind and body can align. That alignment can literally do a magic, amazing— the potential what is lying inside you, you can literally feel that and you can literally start seeing the growth in every part of your life. Thank you, Gargi, once again, and more power to you and keep growing and keep inspiring. And I really, really appreciate, and I'm sending you lots of love and support. And keep going same like this and inspire many people and help as many people as you want. So that I think the world needs people like you to help in not only in the mental, physical, and also healing and much, much beyond. Thank you once again, and it's great talking to you. And we'll see you maybe in the future, one more podcast or something.
Yeah, yes, sure. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Yeah.
