Perplexity queries the internet in real time to find current information, fact-check claims, and cite sources. Unlike other AI tools that rely on pre-trained data, it pulls live information, making it strong for research but weaker at writing.
And then Perplexity is a little different. Perplexity is much more of what we would consider an answer engine, where Perplexity immediately goes out and does real-time research on the, on the internet, gets real-time information, can fact-check, provides the sources, provides current events, compares options. It's not as strong to write things, though it can. It's just not as strong. Its strength is doing the research, up-to-date research instantly from the internet. It's not guessing based on documents that have been uploaded or learned. It's going right out there and getting the current information today.
