A CDL driver takes a Tesla Semi for a test run and finds the throttle control and regenerative braking transformative for stop-and-go traffic. The truck handles a 40,000 lb trailer of drive units without strain, and the driver sees potential for personal use as production ramps up.
You're rolling. Okay, here we go.
All right, let's do it. All right, man, hop on in.
Oh, so you have a truck license? I do.
I was clear I was gonna be able to work on this thing. I was like, I want to be able to drive it, so I went and got my CDL. This basically drives like one of our cars. Yeah, it's just a big car. And the low-speed precise throttling is really great. The responsiveness just makes control so much easier. And regenerative braking is the other thing that is just a, like, game changer for trucking. And that's both because of, you know, just smoothing everything out in stop-and-go traffic and being able to recover that energy. By the way, like, the trailer we've got behind us is full of Drive units. It's pushing about 40,000 pounds payload. So You know, it's just effortless. Like, yeah, you don't even think about it.
You're gonna have to use this as your daily driver, man.
Yeah, well, as we start, you know, bringing— making more and more of them, I'll probably end up—
because you'll get one at home. Well, I don't know if I'll get one at home, but at least like doing some evaluations, I'll daily it every now and then.
