Hi, boutique hub Community. I am Morgan Ramitch.
And I am Alejandra Trombetta.
And we are so thrilled to be on five minute Fridays talking all about our upcoming April buying week.
Yes, we're so excited to be here. And if you are familiar with Atlanta apparel, you know that April market is around the corner. But this year is going to be very special because we are joining forces with formal markets and our gift and home spring show.
So this market will be the first call to buy autumn winter 2025. And it will be the last call to buy gift seasonal items.
Okay, so, Morgan, you are our fashion director. Please tell us what trends should buyers be on the lookout within the season? We know it's fall, winter, but what should be? What should they be looking for?
Yeah. So let's talk color. Obviously, a lot of these trends go across gift and home. So color specifically, we're seeing a lot of moody tones across the whole industry. So. So think plum, cherry, fig, purple shades. Obviously, mocha mousse is everywhere. So really earthy tones, shades of brown you will see across the industry. Specifically for apparel, we're seeing chartreuse. So really fun. Pops of yellow and pastels in the blue family that you can incorporate into your buy.
I love that. And when we talk about key items, we know the colors, we know the trend and the season. What key items do I need to be looking for at market?
Yeah. So we know boho is back. It has been in full force, but with that is coming bigger volume. So think statement sleeves, frills, lace ruffles. A lot of fun like draping and wrapping and ruching detail. Also classics. So we know that classic and equestrian preppy style is back. And that's also in gifted home as well. We're seeing a lot of horse, horse prints and equestrian hardware. As for apparel, it really leans into, like, your polos, your preppy button ups, your blazers, really tailored pieces, as well as riding boots and stirrup leggings. We all love the stirrup legging.
Yeah. Very chic, very refined. I am loving this trend. I've always loved the equestrian trend. And when it comes to accessories, how are we accessorizing all of these pieces?
Okay, well, obviously, autumn, winter, we have to talk outerwear. So we're seeing statement, maximalist coats to the floor. They can be wool, plaid, solid colors, but statement outerwear. Also bomber jackets, but with statement collars, whether it's fur or corduroy, something that is contrasting bomber jackets. Because we're still seeing a resurgence of, like, very sporty pieces. Puffed and padded. So bomber jackets are still having a moment. And then something fun that saw on the Runway was capes. So capes are really something girly and fun and different this season that I think follow that boho look and feel that we've been seeing for seasons. As for accessories specifically, we are loving a belt these days, specifically with fun hardware. So think layering your belts, different textures, but with really unique hardware. For the bag, the suede, shoulder tote, oversized, slouchy. We love her, we all need her and have her. Another fun, unexpected accessory would be the baker boy hat. It is back in such a fun way. We saw a lot of that on the Runway as well. And then knit really fun, colorful beanies for fall.
All of those are amazing. And I love how some of this louchy and some like, even the belt, it goes hand in hand with the equestrian and the boho trend. So you can see those key items so hand in hand with the trends we are talking about. Okay, so if I'm a crossover buyer and I am looking to buy some gift in home product, what trends are we seeing on the gift in home side that you consider are important? We need to be on the lookout.
For so maximalist prints across the board. That's also for apparel, but for gift and home, we're seeing a lot of like snake print, botanicals, floral, really fun bird prints and animals in general. We're calling it dots and spots error for apparel and gift at home. So really fun patterns that you can lean into prints and fabrications to shop. And then also games. Games are having a moment. So we're calling the fun and game error. Everyone is playing backgammon and you're seeing very aesthetically pleasing sets that almost become a piece of your home. They're up year round, they're a statement piece, they're beautiful, they're curated. And then that's also influencing a lot of decor and pillows. The whole game industry is booming, which we all love that another for gifted home would be dark glam, which follows that color palette. So that moody, rich tone, a lot of glam metal materials, a lot of velvet, which is really fun and elevated and ties into some of the events we're having here at Market.
That is so much fun, which that's a perfect segue for events. Let's talk about that.
Yes, tell us all about the events and how our buyers can best plan their time at marketing.
Yes, of course. So we know you are here to do business, but let's also have a little bit of fun. So we will have our well known activations program and we will have activations in partnership with our showrooms as well as our temporary exhibitors for both apparel and gift in home. So be prepared for a jam packed activation schedule just across all the floors in the building. And of course our landmark key event is our kickoff party. So on Tuesday we will kick off market with a big party at 6pm in our atrium. And it will be the market polo club party which goes hand in hand with the trend you were just talking about, the refined equestrian. Very chic.
Yes.
I am so excited. So be prepared. There's a lot of surprises going on on that party. Giveaways, custom cocktails and a lot of fun things going on. And if you are here and you are a formal buyer, of course we will have our formal market kickoff party on Wednesday. So Wednesday is the big night for formal markets. We will have our party at 6pm and it also, we will also do a revolving Runway where you can see the latest trends for the formal markets side of the industry.
Amazing. So much going on. Okay, tell us a little bit about amenities. So what can buyers expect for a little pick me up or if they need a little something in the middle of the day?
No, absolutely. Of course we want to make sure you're fueled and ready to go. So we have a lot of complimentary amenities across all three buildings. So you can find complimentary coffee and breakfast in both buildings one and building three. And we will have complimentary lunch in building three, floor five in our buyer resources floor and building one, floor 15 in our designer workspace. So on top of that we have a lot of happy hours going on. So if you want a full listing of all of the amenities and all of the events, make sure to visit our website and you can find everything in the in there.
That is amazing. We have a jam packed schedule. We are so excited, a lot going on. So we cannot wait to see you at April buying week.
