Dotty Scott explains why AI doesn't recommend your business: it needs clarity about who you are and who you help, consistency across your website and listings, and credibility through reviews and structured data. Most businesses fail because their digital presence is fragmented, not because their marketing is bad.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that AI works like a human. It doesn't. AI doesn't browse your website, it doesn't "read between the lines," and it definitely doesn't guess. Before AI can recommend your business, it needs 3 things. First, clarity. Who you are, what you do, who you help. If that isn't instantly obvious, AI moves on. Second, consistency. Consistency. Your business information needs to match everywhere it appears online. Your website, your profiles, your listings. When the details don't line up, AI doesn't know what to trust. And third, credibility. Signals like reviews, authority, and structure that tell AI, yes, this business is legitimate and reliable. Most businesses don't fail because they're bad at marketing. They fail because their digital presence grew in pieces over time. And no one ever brought it together into a clear, trusted foundation. This is exactly what I teach inside my free webinar, From Invisible to Chosen. I'll show you how AI actually evaluates businesses and how to position yourself so you're not just found, you're recommended.
