Dotty Scott left her job to start a home-based business so she could be there for her young daughter and control her own income. She taught herself marketing and launched after moving to a new area, deliberately avoiding network marketing schemes.
I say I'm not employable and I truly am not. I am one of these people when I was working, I was a great employee and the businesses always took advantage of that. I was at a point in my life, my daughter was about 6, she was going into the first grade and we were new to this area where I live now. We had just moved here and didn't know anybody. I definitely wouldn't suggest that strategy for starting a business, but that's a whole nother story. Yeah. But, um, what really prompted it was I wanted to work from home. I wanted to be available for my daughter and I wanted to be in control of my own income. So I didn't wanna be attached to a network marketing company that couldn't be in control of what I make. Um, not that I. I don't think that's a good business model. It's just not what I wanted for me. So that's really what prompted it. And I decided on this, I taught myself how to do it, I figured out how to market it, and I went for it.
