Dotty Scott discusses how often to post on social media. Posting frequency depends on the platform: LinkedIn works best once a day, Facebook handles multiple posts daily, Instagram needs at least one post a day, and TikTok expects many posts. Posts don't typically compete with each other.

Good morning, ladies. Dotty, nice to see you and hear your wisdom. I have a question for you. I received this advice from someone and I just wanted to check it out with you because I know you know the ins and outs. It says, I would— it was suggested that I only post on social once a day. When we post more than once, our posts compete with each other to be seen. Hmm. Hmm. Never heard that. Me neither. So that's why I was going to the woman that I know knows.
Now, I can tell you that the different platforms recommend different things. Like, I don't think I would post on LinkedIn more than once a day. Facebook, I've been known to post 3 or 4 times a day. Instagram, at least once a day. TikTok, they suggest 5 to 8 times a day if you really want to blow up TikTok. So it, it's platform dependent. Okay. But I've never heard of any, any posting that you're gonna be competing with yourself. 'Cause they all just go to your, your profile.
That's what I thought. So I was confused and it does. I did notice Laura Barker said in the chat that it is true for LinkedIn in general, I guess about the once a day.
Yeah. So yeah, I wouldn't be competing more than once a day.
