Mastering social media videos. What does that mean? It's quite simple. You can do a video on anything. Is it appropriate for social media? For example, I'm filming this right now. It's in a horizontal format. It will be going on my website with the article called Mastering Social Media Videos. And on a website, the rectangle or 16:9 format is exactly what you want. In social media, it could be vertical. In fact, most are vertical. The Reels, Stories, and TikTok, any, anything on TikTok is all vertical. YouTube Stories, all vertical. Sometimes square might be appropriate. Are you doing the right formats? And I will tell you right now, I, if I want to put this video on social media, I'm going to reformat this video and not reshoot it. I will take it into a program. The one I use is called Descript. And I will make it square or I'll make it vertical, but I'm not going to reshoot it. So that's part of social media videos. Other parts of social media videos are simply the time. Are they short, quick, to the point? Or do they drag on? If they drag on, eh, it's probably not the best. Unless you're doing a live and you're interviewing somebody or you're involving the audience in some way, then that's a different story. But otherwise, short, quick, to the point. Are you asking a question in the beginning to get them involved in what's going on? Another part of social media videos. Do you know even how to do a video? I, for the most part, use my cell phone. Right now I'm using my video camera. So what options do you have? And do you need to buy anything or not? I actually have a course on social media videos and it goes through all the equipment I use. What is absolutely necessary and what is not. Gives you ideas, things that you, that you can do for yourself and editing tools, all of that. So if you're interested in actually learning how to make social media videos, then that course would be an excellent choice for you. It's linked in the article and I will put it in the YouTube description for this as well. But there's more to a social media video than just any video. And it really comes down to getting someone's attention, getting your message across quickly, um, possibly in an entertaining way, and making sure that they know how to follow up with you, how to contact you. Even if it's just putting your information in your profile, I can't tell you how many people Have a TikTok profile with no link to find out more. No link to their bio, no link to their website, uh, no information in there on how to contact them. You can DM them, but I'm here to tell you that at least if you DM me, it could be days or weeks before I see it. Total transparency here. I'm not a DM kind of person. And to be on social media effectively, you really do need to be a DM kind of person, and I'm fully aware that I am not. There you go. But social media is a monster all in its own. Most business owners have a very strong love-hate relationship with it. They would love to get leads from social media. They hate to participate. They would love interactions and likes and shares, but yet they don't know how to create content that actually generates interactions, likes, and shares. So that's what this article is about. And if you want more information, I have a course on it that will teach you all you need to know about social media videos.
