Dotty Scott explains Creative Time, drop-in Canva workshops for Ask Dotty members. People bring projects like round videos or trifold brochures and get real-time help from Dotty and the group, with no fixed agenda and peer brainstorming built in.
is bring a project and let's see what we can do with it. Rita, can you comment on Creative Time at all?
Yeah, Creative Time is amazing. It's really been especially amazing because there's just a few people there, but it would be even better with more people. But we usually work in Canva and someone will just— like one time we worked on somebody's book cover and I asked a question once that Dotty said, well, I don't know, let's go find out. We just started trolling around in Canva. We found it. We all learned figure out whatever it was I was asking. And it's, of course, Canva has a wealth of things, just like Dotty has in her head. She's amazing. And, um, it's Dotty's expertise, but everyone in the call also. It's a brain trust. Yeah, it's fantastic.
So I think 2 weeks ago, Heshy wanted to figure out how to do a round video. So the 4 of us that were in there together, we figured out, oh, let's try this, try this, try this. And we finally figured out how to do a round video. So I mean, on the creative time, I don't come with an agenda. I show up and my Ask Dotty members can ask me anything they want. They can bring a project. They can say, you know, I need help with this. One time one of the members needed to do a trifold brochure and all of us together, there was 4 or 5 of us at that time or at that meeting, and we came up with the graphics of where it's going to go. We had the placeholders and she just had to drop in the text and she was good to go. So I mean, that's what it is. And I never, I can't tell you what the next one's going to be because it just depends on who shows up and what issues they're having and what help with.
