Have you ever been sharing your screen in teams or in Zoom and thought to yourself, gee, it really would be nice to have a way to draw on the screen to point out specific things? Yes, absolutely. I was in that exact same situation last week. I was walking through this Scrum353 cheat sheet you're looking at here. And I was trying to call out specific elements on screen, and my little black cursor here just wasn't getting the job done. So that's when Screen Brush comes into play. So I hit Option tab on my keyboard and and up comes Screen Brush, which lets me draw on my screen really easily. Right. I didn't really have to pick any tools. It just automatically lets me start drawing on my screen. I draw a line and it quickly fades away. Or I can click on screen and it just highlights what I'm clicking on. So we were looking at this Sprint planning icon and we were discussing whether or not this is the right icon for this. So I sort of drew a circle around there just to call attention to it. If I want to Sprint specifically point to things, I could flip over to the arrow tool here and draw an arrow, hit the type tool and type things out. Like, maybe I want to, you know, change the color of this box. Now, you'll notice as soon as I click off of one of these tools, the ink fades away. I can change that behavior by clicking the stopwatch button down at the bottom, and that will make it freeze on screen. So if I'm annotating a document and I want all my notes to remain on screen, I can, I can click that option and it stays there. If I hold down the shift key while I'm annotating, while I have it up, it turns my cursor into a spotlight, which will, you know, gray out the rest of the screen and then shine a light around my cursor. The thing I love about Screen Brush is it works in whatever application I'm working with at the time. I share my screen. I hit Option Tab, up comes Screen Brush, and I'm able to write on my screen. It's really a game changer. Now, one caveat. Screen Brush is a Mac only application. Are you serious? I know, I know. I'm sorry, Windows users. There is another tool out there called Epic Pen which is Windows friendly. It runs on Windows and does essentially the same thing as Greenbrush. So you can check that out if you're a Windows user. So if you facilitate remote meetings and you don't have a tool for drawing on your screen, you have to give screen brush a try. I'm Chris Palmisano with Kai Rise, and that is your remote work hack.
