He argues that anyone who limits themselves with their own knowledge, thoughts, or understanding becomes a ‘pashu’, even a scientist, unless they break these internal bonds. A true scientist, according to him, is one who transcends conventional limits, questions the impossibility of phenomena, and follows the path of rational inquiry (वितर्क). Shivanand then shifts to an inner‑self inquiry, urging listeners to ask what they truly desire from life, their body, guru, and existence. He uses mythic symbols—Shiva, Shumbha‑Nishumbha, and the demons Chanda‑Munda—to illustrate inner conflicts and the need to destroy the “चंड‑मुंड” (confusing dualities) that cause indecision.
