Ishan Shivanand contrasts two ways of seeing the world: Satoguni clairvoyance, which perceives opportunities and divinity, versus Tamoguni, which sees demons. He argues that truthfulness opens the throat chakra and lets energy reach the brain, while phones, streaming, and shopping numb the mind. Prayer shifts from wanting things to gratitude.

Today there is so much debate to ban single-use plastic, and people are debating why. They said, then how will we drink our water? How people have been drinking since time immemorial. But now water has become equal to bottle, and they must have seen a need. Very nice. The next business plan should be bottled air. It will be a hit in India. You know, we can have like a pranayam, spiritual, divine— that while doing Pratiprasad Sadhana outside, we can have Himalayan air, Switzerland air, Shiv Yog Ashram air, you know, all those things. I'm just saying, you see a need, then you put it out there. There is Satoguni clairvoyance and then there is Tamoguni clairvoyance. Tamoguni clairvoyance is seeing the devil where the naked eye cannot see. And Shivayog teaches you that you see only with 3% your eyes, 97% is 2 clearvoyance, either tamoguni or satoguni clearvoyance. Satoguni clearvoyance, seeing success, seeing opportunity where it doesn't exist, seeing divinity where it doesn't exist. And when I say it doesn't exist, I don't mean it doesn't exist right now, it doesn't exist, it can be there if it is manifested. And tamoguni clearvoyance is Seeing the demon where it doesn't exist and then manifesting it. So 97%, you will be clear ones. And truthfulness means being aware of God in your life, being aware of Guru Tattwa in your life, being aware that good things will happen to me. Can you do that? Good things will happen to me. Something that doesn't exist, but it's clairvoyance. It is, it is manifesting. It is coming, it's coming. Good things will happen to me. And the more you practice truthfulness, the more you speak truthfulness, the more you think truthfulness, the more the Vishuddhi opens and the more your energy starts to flow to the brain. And if you are using your brain, you can do so many things in life. Trust me, your brain is your friend. Yes, we don't need to numb it. With phone, with Netflix, with social media, with alcohol, with— I don't know how else you numb your brain— with shopping, with food, with this, with that. You need to keep it sharp. And if the brain is our friend, then you'll not pray for God. First, little, little thing like money or success or this or that, then you will have so much strength that you 'Create all these things and then you will thank God.' And that is the real trajectory of Shivayog teaching. Our prayer changes from want to gratitude.
