Divinity is created not forced | Art of Self Realization

The speaker distinguishes dhyan, technique-based meditation rooted in prayer, from sadhana, surrender-based inner work that requires letting go of ego. Divinity and love cannot be forced; they arise naturally when you stop trying to be the doer and surrender like a child in the womb.

Discipline is guiding your mind. And the final emotion, the final discipline that I want from you is the discipline of sadhana. And the discipline of sadhana is simple. That sadhana is the time when I just let go. There is great difference between dhyan and sadhana. Dhyan is meditation. Dhyan is technique. Dhyan is doing something. I don't believe that much in dhyan because dhyan is prayer-based. And prayer is belief-based. Prayer is always there to change the external, and how I view the external depends upon my own thought process. This gentleman I met said to me that I said, 'Sadhikarna bawale.' I never said, but that is his belief. That is what he picked up. Belief is something that leads to prayer. Belief is what I was telling to them in Singapore. A moon comes in the nighttime. When a poet looks at the moon, the poet is very happy. The poet writes poetry. When a dog looks at the moon, the dog starts howling. When the dog will pray, the dog will pray to God, dear God, moon should not come. Moon makes me howl. When dog will sit with other dog, he will hatch plan to make nuclear bomb, to make the moon go boom, because the moon make them all howl. And that is why a Shiv Yogi doesn't pray. A Shiv Yogi does sadhana, because prayer is hoping, requesting the infinite that the external changes. Sadhana is meditating so that the internal changes. Let my perception of the world change. Dhyan is a technique where I am the doer. Technique may not work because if technique would work, then all the dogs in the world are doing Kapalbhati all the time. They must become evolved first. Technique sometimes may not work. Sadhana is different than technique because in sadhana I am not the doer. I surrender like a child in the mother womb surrenders to the nature. You are a human being, you are not a human doer. And the best things about being human is sometimes and you surrender. And that is why love you cannot do, it is created. You push yourself to that direction, you nudge to the direction, and then one day you open the eyes and you are in love. Yes or no? What if I try to push love, force love? It will never be. Even divinity, spirituality, You cannot push it. It is created automatically. You nudge yourself in that direction and then one day you open the eyes, you are spiritual, you are divine, you are there. And the discipline of sadhana is looking at the universe and saying, now take over. Now I let go. Like I let go when I was in the mother's womb. I wasn't saying again and again to the mother, hey, baji, aur kaam me rehaat kothora aur strong karna hai. You are a human being, and the discipline of sadhana is that when I am doing the sadhana, I accept with gratitude all the beautiful things that happen.
