In this recorded talk, Ishan Shivanand explores the nature of awakening and the importance of connecting with every cell of the body. He uses the metaphor of a whale that must surface to breathe to illustrate how most people live submerged in daily life, only occasionally surfacing for spiritual “breath.” The dialogue introduces Babaji, who repeatedly invites people to “breathe” – a symbolic call to awaken – but many resist, claiming they have no time. Shivanand argues that human beings are not limited to the third dimension; consciousness transcends time and space, allowing the mind to be present in past, present, and future simultaneously and to occupy multiple mental locations at once. The core teaching is that by learning to connect to this higher‑dimensional energy, one can achieve calmness and peace, much like the whale that surfaces, inhales, and returns to its oceanic life.

And he says it is very much possible because all is Nirguna Nirakar. How you manifest, how you awaken, how you connect is most important. And if you learn to connect with each and every single cell, then the whole meaning of life starts to change. It is so very beautiful. I look around, I see people You know, there is this aquarium on Thames. Have you seen that big aquarium next to London Eye, Big Ben? I don't know.
Very big aquarium. And you know, they have a lot of dolphin and some sort of whale inside. Do you know what is whale? Is a mammal. You know mammal? What is different between fish and mammal? Fish has gill. Fish can breathe underwater.
Yes, no?
Of course. But the whale is mammal. It has to come to the surface to breathe. It has its life under the water, its kids, its family, its community under the water, everything. But if it has to breathe, It has to come to the surface, then it goes down.
And I see so many people, they also are like the whales.
They sit, they are in this ocean, they are working, they have families, they have everything, and then they come to Babaji, Babaji, there is a lot of frustration. Babaji said, okay, come, come, I will make you breathe.
Babaji, no time! What, you don't know anything?
And Babaji goes back to India, comes back, and now these people, oh, Babaji, it has increased now so very much, you don't know at all, no, no. Babaji said, okay, connect, let me, let me help you breathe, you know, that is the main thing, after that do what you want to.
Babaji, you don't know, okay, I have a son.
Babaji said, what do I have, monkey? 'No, Babaji, lot of work, you know, I cannot, I don't have time, ah!' 'You don't have time to breathe, really? Okay, don't breathe.' Then again Babaji come after 2 years and by now these people have turned blue completely.
'Babaji, now it is gone and done!' And Babaji say, 'Okay, just one second, give me one second.' And these people say, 'No, that cannot happen!' They never breathe.
It's the main thing we don't understand. Human beings are not just a being of third dimension.
Why?
Because in us we have a consciousness which is not bound by third dimension.
Look at your thoughts. Physics says from point A to point B, if you want to reach, you need time.
Yes or no? The highest we can go is at light speed, but the mind doesn't need time.
Physics says you can only go ahead in past, in future, but our mind can go in past, our mind can go in present, our mind can go in future. Physics says an object can only be at one place at a time, but your mind can be at parallel places at the same time. Sitting here, you can think about aloo ka halwa or whatever, aloo ki chaat. You can think about India, you can think about God, you can think about 20 other things.
Yes or no? You are thinking.
But it can happen, na? We are saying it can happen.
So being in third dimension, you are a being of high dimension, of highest dimension. And the most important thing is we must learn to connect to that energy.
I look at him, he's also like us.
But the only difference, why is he calm, why is he peaceful?
Because whenever he gets the opportunity, he goes up, connects, and then come back like the whale.
The only difference between a Siddha and a normal man is the normal man doesn't take time to connect.
